First, I would like to apologize for not sending any e-mails for a few
months since February, because we are too busy that time. And we only have almost one month to have a summer vacation because
we have to meet our requirements in school. Anyway,thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the support you've given
us since I am 1st year high school student. And now I am on my 3rd year in Laboratory High School, please don't stop supporting
us on my study. I will give my best in studying and get merits this year.

Club
Secretary -IT-BDA Club
Treasurer -PUPLHS`Chorale
Auditor-

Senior staffer - Buklod Diwa (we are still
waiting for the announcement of our positions)
Every now and then, I was in school to attend some club meetings. Yes, hindi pa po pasukan
lagi po akong nasa LHS para po sa ibat-ibang mga meetings namin.Also, I was really happy to meet again
Class’65 during their Induction Ceremony of new set of Officers and Gen. Assembly Meeting last
April 21stheaded by its President, Sir Ray Contreras.Actually, I already
knew about the said meeting coz Ma’am Liway mentioned it to me through text message. I was in the Music room for our
chorale summer workshop when my co-scholar, Jonas Losantas, asked permission from Sir Jarin for me and Christine Tamayo (she’s
our new recruit) to go out so I could join Batch ’65. Present were scholars namely Jonas, Christine Tamayo, Kuya Mark Galon, Adrian Sabado and myself.As always, they warmly welcomed us and
shared us the snacks prepared by your classmates that day.Thank you po sa masarap na merienda!!! Well, I was also glad that Ma’am Ludy had extended her stay here at isa po siya sa nag-asikaso sa amin. Unfortunately,
wala po sina Ma’am Lee and Ma’am Chit.We also had a chance to see the DVD of the Sapphire
Reunion (only a portion of it).
BTW, I was in school last May 28 and I saw that all the junior scholars
namely Samantha, Joanah, Francesca and Jonas are all in the same class, III-Bookkeeping. Hahaha . Magkakaklase
na po silang lahatkatulad naming tatlo nina Aimee at Christine.We belong to IV-Bookkeeping
class.
Once again, thank you for your all-out support to us.GOD
bless… Stay safe.
Tito Jet, all ofyour scholars are joining the fieldtrip.They were all very
happy especially Aimee when I informed them that the Santos family will pay for the said activity.Also, I got a text message from Edniel Parrosa’s mom last March 21st to confirm if her son can go.She was very glad and thankful for your generosity when I told her the good news.FYI, the last day of payment for the fieldtrip is March 31.At
present, we will be attending classes until April 14 unlike students in other school who are now on vacation.Kindly read my other e-mail for the Batch ’65.
Bye for now.Regards to your family and Ma’am Lina.GOD BLESS!!!INGAT PO KAYO PALAGI.

Dearest PCCHS
Batch ’65,
Good day !!!Kumusta na po kayong lahat?
I just want to
inform all of you that we still have to go to school until April 14, our Recognition Day.If you could still remember, our Recognition Day last year was April 1st, mas yado na po talaga kaming late.At this time, students of some schools are already on vacation.Yes, bakasyon grande na po sila while in LHS, we are still busy in our studies. At present,I have two days (Saturday and Sunday)to review for our final exams. Below is our school schedule:
March 29-314th Periodical Test
April 7Field Trip
April 14Recognition Day for Outstanding Students
April 15Graduation Day
April 20Distribution of Cards
In between these days, we will
be very busy for our clearances and other school activities like election of new officers of the different organizations for
the incoming school year.Also, I will be attending a 3-day summer workshop (whole
day) for PUPLHS Chorale members from April 19-21.The good news, I’m exempted
in taking up the final exams in 2 subjects, Music and Chemistry.For Chemistry,
Prof. Rivera told us that anybody who will get a perfect score in the 3rd Quarter Exam will be exempted in the
finals as an incentive.Thank God, I did!!! We were only two students (one from
IV-Entrepreneurship) among the juniors who made it.
I will be sending you my next
e-mail on the 14th or the 15h just after the Recognition Day. Once again, thank you my beloved sponsors.GOD BLESS!!! Stay safe…
A pleasant day for you as this email reaches you. I hope
all is well for you.
First, my thanks for all the financial support you have
provided me and my co-students.
Also, I just want to share some good things that happened
to me. I made it again this third quarter, I received a merit card and was told that I am the top 1 of my class. I am also
one of the representatives for MTAP. We managed to make it up to the District Level. We will try to do better the next time
around.
It is always my honor and privilege to be one of your
scholars. Thank you. God Bless!
first of all, i would like to congratulate all batch '65 for having a successful reunion. sana po nagustuhan niyo yung
dun po talaga ako nagfocus .. my teacher gave me 86 in statistics and 82 in mathematics .. i was very disappointed kasi
po almost perfect ko po ung periodical exam na binigay niya tapos ganon lang po .. it made me wonder , "san ba ako nagkulang?"
until now it's still a mystery for me . pero swerte nadin po siguro ako kasi mabibilang lang po talaga sa kamay yung mga naka-line
sleepy .. haha . uhm, sir , nagperform din po pala kami ng ballroom last jan.26 .. it was fun and 99 po
ako bagay na maging co . haha .. they're just laughing when i told them my plan .
to end up my email, just want to express my gratitude to all batch '65 .. sana po madami pa po kayong matulungang
students sa future ..

Dear Batch ’65,
A good day to all of you! I just want to greet
you a Merry Christmas, even though it’s too late and a Happy New Year!
I’m sorry for not e-mailing you for a
long time. For the last few months our class was so busy for the different activities held in school.
Last November 19, I was given a medal for winning
the Bible Quiz Bee as a 1st runner up. At the easy round I thought I couldn’t win because I only got 15 over
30 but I’m so thankful that God blessed me knowledge and wisdom to win the contest.
On the first week of December, the Student
Central Organization announced that a Christmas décor competition will be held. The decorations should be made from plastic
cups, bottles, papers, straw and etc. Our president appointed some of the class members including me and Aimee to be a part
of decorations Committee. Each one of us has different decorations to do, and I was assigned making a parol made of straws.
We spend nights and days doing our decorations and thankfully we won the 1st place! Truly God blesses our class
for we also won 1st runner up in the Dance Fest (I am one of the members) and in Chorale Competition.
Truly, 2009 has been good for our section,
and also to us. Even though we encountered so many challenges like the typhoon Ondoy, but because of that typhoon we have
seen that Filipinos are united during the time of crisis. Well, everything that happens has a purpose.
And I know God make me a student of PUPLHS
because His purpose for me is to meet someone like you who is very nice and very generous. Thank you very much for supporting
me and I’ll always be thankful for it.
That’s all and 3 days to go it’s
a New Year!! Have you already prepared your New Year’s Resolution?.

This

To
Batch '65:
I just learned early this morning from Sir Jaime that Batch ’65 will have an
alumni homecoming tomorrow, January 15, 2010. Unfortunately, I can’t come to attend the homecoming because I have
classes from 7:30 am until 5:00 in the afternoon. Instead, I write this letter for all of you.
I just want to extend my appreciation to you, Batch ’65 who helped us since
high school and until now. You really helped us a lot not only financially, but also in terms of motivation and moral
support.
Now that we’re all in college, I really felt very thankful to you all and also
to LHS. LabHigh taught me many things in life. This institution steered me to be more inspired and to keep my
eyes focused straight towards my goal.
Also, LabHigh trained me to survive the extreme environment of college life.
I remember that there were times that I stay awake until midnight just to finish assignments, projects or study for exams.
Right now that I’m in my third year in college, I feel that it’s even more drastic; we often stay awake until
morning just to finish school works so that we could meet our professors’ standards and expectations. There were
times that I feel so frustrated and even think to give up but I always hesitate to do so, instead, I just read the book that
you have given me (Being Happy) to boost myself.
To Batch ’65 and Laboratory High School who served as my inspiration in pursuing
my studies and mentor in life: I cherish each and every thought you have imparted me.
To my co-scholars especially to the high school students, be thankful that you have
been given a chance to study here. It’s a great privilege! PUP and Laboratory High School would open big
doors for you so don’t waste this chance. You don’t need to be a genius, just stay focused in your studies,
keep yourself on the ground and always be thankful to God.

Tita Suki and Tito Percy. thank you po for the Christmas
bonus. Na'receive ko na po. Thank you po again and God bless! Happy Holidays po! I love you po.
Ma'am Liway, Ma'am Lee, Sir Jet and the rest of Batch65.
Thank you po for everything you've done. God really blessed me with wonderful people. Thank you po talaga and Godbless. I
love you po.
Happy
Holidays!!! Kumusta na po kayong lahat, my dearest sponsors?
I
just want to thank all of you for the cash gift that you have given us last Dec. 15th during the Christmas get-together
of scholars with Ma’am Lee, Ma’am Liway, Ma’am Lina, Sir Ray and Kuya Mark Galon . It was my mom who
attended because I was in the KATAGA Scholars’ Leadership Enhancement Training (SLET) in PUP Hasmin Hostel. My
mom told me na nanghihinayang nga po si Kuya Mark coz there was no SLET seminar during his LHS days. Also, there was a group
picture taken that day, sayang po talaga, hindi po ako nakasama.
BTW,
ginamit ko po yung cash gift para pandagdag sa pambayad po sa YWCA since I enrolled for a 12-swimming sessions coz swimming
is our PE for the 3rd Quarter (thank you po ulit). Ayaw ko pong kasing bumagsak sa PE dahil ako lang po ang
hindi marunong lumangoy sa klase namin. My PE teacher, Sir Nero, already advised us to enroll in a swimming class
last summer vacation, my classmates did samantalang ako po hindi dahil wala po kaming pera. We already had 2 PE days (2 hours/day)
but I failed to glide and float so how can I make a good grade for my poor performance. We were left on our own to do
the said tasks na hindi ko po magawa. Sir Nero knows that I don’t want to get a low grade so sinabi po niya sa
akin na lulusong na po siya next time para turuan po ako. I’ll be contented with a grade of 85 so I can still
get a merit card, higher than that the better. Meanwhile, I’ve already attended 4 swimming sessions which started
last Friday, Dec. 18. At present, I already learned how to do the different kinds of float (magaling po kasi iyong
swimming instructress ko, ako lang po ang student niya). My next swimming sessions for January is scheduled every
Saturday.
I
was able to attend the SLET seminar for 1 day only since the following day, Dec. 16, I joined the chorale in Calauan, Laguna.
We were invited by Mrs. Baby Berri, the wife of Calauan Mayor, in their town’s Christmas celebration scheduled at 6PM.
Actually, she had seen us performed during PUP Pres. Dante Guevarra’s birthday bash last October. Since
she really liked our performance, she requested Sir Jarin to make a new arrangement for the Calauan hymn to be interpreted
by us. Luckily, Mayor Berri approved our rendition when he heard our recording for the said song so he decided
to re-launched it to the public that day. Mrs. Berri and PUP Calauan Directress Arlene Queri shouldered all our expenses
which included the food, transportation and the overnight stay in a resort. However, PUP Pres. Guevarra didn’t
allow us to have an overnight stay kaya balikan lang po kami kahit na raw madaling araw pa po kami makauwi.
Dec.
15 (Tuesday) – The 1st day of 3-days SLET seminar. It was the first time the PUPLHS was invited to
join the seminar so we were the only high school students while the rest were college participants from the different
departments of PUP, Rizal Technological University and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Makati. We finished all our activities
at 1:30 a.m. and we transferred to PUP Main to spend the night (I mean morning na po pala!). We slept for
only 3 hours to prepare ourselves for the 2nd day’s (Dec.16) activity, the Amazing Race.
Dec.
16 (Wednesday) - The Amazing Race was a strenuous activity so I decided not to join since I will go with the chorale
in Laguna that day. Umuwi po ako ng bahay mga 8:00 ng umaga and took a nap. I went back to school at 11am. We
left our school at 2pm with Sir Jarin, Prof. Odette So, Ma’am Precille Gaspillo, and Ma’am Gizel Rivera.
Then, we arrived in the venue at 5pm where we sang several songs to the crowd. After that, we proceeded at Calumbahin Resort.
By 7pm, we went back to the town plaza for our 2nd appearance to the delight of the audience. Punung-puno
po ng mga tao ang buong plaza and they were really pleased with our songs. The crowd kept on shouting for more, more…
so, after our mini-concert, paos na po kaming lahat sa dami po ng kinanta namin, hahaha. We
were overwhelmed when Sir Jarin told us that one of the PUP Calauan officials who has a textile business said that she will
be donating textile materials to be used for our costumes since she really enjoyed our repertoire. At 10 pm, we headed back
to Manila and arrived at 1:30 a.m. My mom and the mother of one of choir members waited for us at PUP Main.
Ayoko na po kasing matulog sa school dahil natulog na po ako roon the night before while Sir Jarin and the rest slept in the
campus.
Dec.
17 (Thursday) - Last day of school for the year and our Christmas party. Three (3) contests were held that day
where the 3 sections per year level participated. Our class, III-Bookkeeping won in all categories: Best in Christmas
Decoration- Champion ; Chorale Competition- 1st runner-up and Dance Competition- 1st runner-up...
We
were all jubilant and our adviser, Ma’am Sherry was very proud kasi kami po ang may pinakamaraming panalo sa lahat
ng year level. We were awarded a trophy and medals for all performers (additional medal for me).
Also,
the YMCA Baguio conference will be held this coming Jan. 14-17 but I’ve decided not to attend since it will coincides
with your reunion on Jan. 15th. Siyempre po, Class ’65 is more important than the said event
since I want to meet all of you so I can personally thank you for your untiring support to us (scholars). Although I
was already assigned to compete in essay writing contest, I know Ma’am Tahil and my HI-Y coordinators will understand,
Once
again, maraming, maraming salamat po. TAKE CARE… GOD BLESS!!!!
Good day po! Kamusta po kayo? Nakapag-enroll na po ako for this coming 2nd semester and
I was able to maintain my NECFI scholarship. My GWA for the 1st semester is 1.71. Mataas po kasi masyado 'yung standards ng
isa naming professor. Buti na lang po nahatak ng iba kong subjects. For this sem, college scholar po ako. There are two types
po kasi of Dean's List sa university. College scholar po if a student has a GWA of 1.45-1.75. On the other hand, University
scholar naman po if he/she has a GWA of above 1.45. I'll do my best to be a University scholar this coming 2nd sem.
Naibalik
na rin po namin kay Ma'am Lina last Saturday 'yung pinangtuition ko po last semester. We also asked Ma'am Lina if we can still
ask for assistance if ever na kapusin pa rin po 'yung benefits sa NECFI. Mas magastos po kasi sa higher years. She said na
ok lang naman daw po basta mag-txt or mag-email lang daw po ako sa kanya. I'm very much thankful that even if meron na po
akong NECFI scholarship, willing pa rin po kayong tumulong if kapusin pa rin po.

Hello po,
How are you po?
This is Adrian Jose B. Sabado,
one of your sponsored students here in PUP Sta. Mesa. I would like to say thank you for all the financial support you had
provided me this past few months. It really helped me and my family when it comes to financial needs.
The first sum of money I
received were used to buy some school supplies not just for me but including my younger sisters' as well. So, it was really
a big help for us. I hope you continue to support students here in PUP to achieve their best education with less financial
burdens.
I just want to inform that
I am trying my very best to stay with this sponsorship and hopefully maintain my grades up to to the time I graduated here.
I am doing all the efforts to return all the favor through studies and hopefully you feel proud and feel worthy of all
the financial supports you have sent me.
Good
day po!!! How are you my dear sir? I’m so sorry for my late reply. Pasensiya na po kayo, ang dami po kasing activities
sa school. Inspite of my numerous times I wasn’t able to attend my classes for the different activities especially with
the chorale group, I still managed to rank No. 1 and got a merit card award. Well, I was very happy that Aimee was also
a merit card awardee. By the way, we had a scholars’ meeting last Aug. 21 for our presentation in your batch’s
45th anniversary with Ma’am Chit, Ma’am Nellie Aragon, Sir Ed Damian and Sir Danny Tiotico. Both Aimee
and Kuya Luigi failed to make it. I was the one who contacted all the scholars for the said meeting.. We had a good
attendance, 12 in all, including kuya Mark Galon. Aimee told me she wasn’t sure to attend. Meanwhile, masakit
daw po ang paa ni Kuya Luigi when I texted him… kung hindi lang daw po mahigpit sa school niya, di raw po talaga siya
papasok. He did not elaborate on how or why he hurt his foot. Anyway, Ate Lala and I were assigned in singing, Dawn
in skit and Ate Khristine Manlises in dance numbers. Actually, both Ma’am Chit and Ma’am Nellie enjoyed
the sample dance of Ate Khristine so they asked her to choreograph a dance number for them. Their chosen tune, Nobody by Wonder
Girls. Sir Danny invited me to go with Ate Khristine for their practice last Saturday, Sept. 5, but I declined coz we
had a chorale practice. The following day, we joined the Eco-chorale competition of Phil. Travel Mart and DOT wherein our
choir won 1st runner-up.
Sir
Jet, kindly read my e-mail for PCCHS for my other news.
Bye
for now. Stay safe.. Much blessings from above.

Kabadung-kabado po kami lalo na po si Sir Jarin since we were only 19 while others have 30 members with their glittering and
beautiful Filipiana costumes. Also, the other choirs have many supporters (taga-palakpak po nila) like the RMHS chorale which
was the national champion for the HS division last year, hakot po talaga!!! . As simple as we were, we still got the nods
of the judges and the audience, their remarked on us, “magaling ang PUPLHS, maganda ang blending nila kahit konti lang
sila“.
Also,
last July 28th, the LHS Chorale was invited to perform for PUP President Dr. Dante Guevarra’s birthday bash in Bulwagang
Balagtas, NALLRC Bldg., together with PUP Bagong Himig Serenata and other college performing groups. We were very sad coz
the 3 college sophomore members of our choir including Ate Lalaine Advincula were now members of PUP Serenata.
I
was also the Topnocher in the DepEd National Achievement test for the 2nd Year which was held last
March 11. The result which was released last July 31 was posted in the bulletin board were sophomores were ranked from
highest to lowest. That day, I was requested to report to the Principal’s office wherein I was congratulated personally
by Prof. Corazon Tahil.
I’m
now a junior staffer of our school paper, Buklod Diwa. Although I have no background in journalism, I was able
to pass the written exams such as feature, editorial and news writing. As for my first assignment, I was designated to cover
the opening of “Buwan ng Wika” celebration last August 1st with our Editor-in-chief, Araceli Baygan
and another senior student, Danica Mendoza.
In
commemoration of PUP Foundation Day this coming Sept. 16-21, the LHS will compete with the college students in the University
Academic Contests. I was chosen as one of the 3-members team (composed of 2 seniors and 1 junior student) of Statistics
Quiz Bee to be trained by Prof. Jay-R Manamtam and the Science Quiz Bee Team with trainors, Prof. Gizel Rivera and Ma’am
Precille Gaspillo.. Since a student can only participate in 1 event, I was finally assigned in the Science team.
The 2 seniors will focus in Chemistry and Physics while for me, it’s Biology and Food Science. I just hope and
pray that our team will win.
Once
again, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. TAKE CARE po… GOD BLESS!!!
Kamusta
na po? Ma'am Liway, kamusta po kayo sa Canada?:D
Sana
po okay lang po kayo.
Hmmm.
First term over na po. Haha salamat po sa Lord nakatapos na po ako ng first sem. Nalaman ko na rin po ung grades do this sem,
and through the Lord's grace, matataas naman po yung nakuha ko. And surprisingly, kasama po ako sa Dean's list this sem. Sobrang
Haha sobrang
saya po.
Sir Jet, here
are the new videos of the 5 songs -- Rosas Pandan, Tangueando, Mamayog Akun, Ambo Hato and Irreplaceable.
This time, with close-up shots and mas okey po ang audio. Also, our soloist is Ate Krizzette "Tetet" Gutierrez, a sophomore
Masscom student and former classmate of Kuya Mark Galon. Happy viewing and listening!!! Sana po
ay magustuhan ninyo...
How's your
birthday? Did you spend it with your family? Till my next e-mail. Stay safe. More blessings
from above....

PCCHS Batch ’65 for my detailed story…. Thank you po ulitsa prayers at sa lahat, lahat.Also, I also want to greet you… advance

Dear PCCHS Batch ’65,
Hello, my beloved sponsors!!! I hope all of you are doing fine.
We’re back from Malaysia-safe and sound… Thanks God.BTW, 10 countries
joined the competition, which include China, Indonesia,
UK, Malaysia, Australia, Taiwan and the Philippines.Each country had 2-4 choir
groups.Another delegation from our country is TZ 5, a church choir from Pasig.Out of 5 categories, we participated in 2 categories wherein
we were awarded 2 silver certificates while UK
got the gold. Okey na po ‘yon for a first timer like us. We were the only HS chorale group, 1 children’s choir
and the rest are all composed of adult (professional) members. Well, my Penang trip
was really veryexciting, sad, happy, funny and frightening experience:
Day 1 (July 3, Friday) – We were approaching the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport when
Zyrene,a soprano choir member, told us that she had a high fever due to tonsilitis.Ma’am Tahil decided
that she couldn’t join our trip since Malaysians were strict because of H1N1 virus scare. Zyrene kept on crying. Yes,
we left her in the PUP vehicle with a heavy heart. Then, Mrs. Gonzales, the wife of Sir Jimmy (our registrar) was also not
allowed to ride the plane coz she wrote “employee” (she’s a teacher) in her occupation but was not able
to present a certification from her employer (it was a requirement)…better if she wrote “housewife”- no
question ask.So from 28 persons, our delegation was down to 26 (nakakalungkot po talaga dahil nabawasan
po kami ng 2 kasama).Our plane landed at Kuala Lumpur
airport at 3:45 pm.We ate cheeseburger at McDonalds and rode a tourist bus provided by Ma’am Nica,
president of the Filipino community group. By 8 pm, we ate our dinner, chicken rice, using our bare hands, marumi po kasi
ang mga spoons sa hawkers.We arrived at Tune Hotel-Penang, Jalan Burmah at 12midnight--- 7 long hours,
no traffic, puro hilera ng puno at bundok ang nakikita po namin at ang haba po ng PenangBridge!!!We occupied the rooms in the 9th
floor.
Day 2 (July 4, Saturday) – Tune Hotel gave us a room at the 2nd Floor for our practice. Then,
we went to Berjaya Hotel, the contest venue, to register.
Day 3 (July 5, Sunday) – At 11 am, we sang in “Misang Pinoy” at Our Lady of SorrowChurch.Then, Ma’am Nica, treated us a buffet lunch at Wonderland (chinese) Restaurant.In Berjaya
Hotel, we performed for the chamber category at 3:45 pm. We went back to our hotel at 6pm.I shared a room,
Rm. 912, with Ate Lalaine Advincula andTetet.In that room, Lee Ann, Kuya Micah, Jehiel
and myself had a frightening and funny experience.May multo po sa kuwarto namin!!! Lee Ann, asked
Ate Lalaine if she could change her dress in our CR. Naka-pajama na po siya when somebody grabbed her foot.Pagtingin
po niya sa paa niya, may nakakatakot na babae ang nakahawak dito (a lady ghost like Sadako in the movie “The Ring”).Nagsisigaw po at umiiyak si Lee Ann na pumunta sa room ni Sir Jarin.I was in the lobby with Chelsea
and Jehiel so we proceeded to Sir Jarin’s room when we heard the incident. Actually, I was the first one to use the
CR but I didn’t see anything, thank God!Then, I remembered, I forgot my wallet in our room so even
if I was frightened, I asked Kuya Micah (a senior student) and Jehiel to accompany me.When we opened the
door, sinalubong po kami ng malaking bosesna ang sabi “HOOOOA!!!”.Ang
takot po namin!!! Ang daya, si Kuya Micah, ka-lalaking tao, nauna pang kumaripas ng takbo sa akin, hahaha!!!I did run as fast as I could and didn’t bother to get my wallet.Si Jehiel, tumakbo na rin
po sabay sabing “huwag ninyo kong iwan!!!” We went straight to our conductor’s room, we had a meeting and
prayed.Ma’am Ambag decided to ask the hotel management for a transfer because of the said “ghost”.So we were offered another room, Rm. 920.Then, everybody accompanied Ate Lalaine, Tetet and myself
to get back our luggages in Rm. 912.
Day 4 (July 6, Monday) – We performed in front of the judges for folkloric category at 2:45 pm.Kuya Kier Escueta was not able to join us coz he had a high fever, 40ş C and just stayed in his room.Mrs.
Delos Reyes took care of him, panay punas at painom po ng gamot sa kanya.During the contest, Sir Jimmy
was assigned to watch Kier. Anyway, by 7pm, he was already fine and sang with us in the Friendship Concert.
Day 5 (July 7, Tuesday)- we went to GoldenSunBeach Resort, no swimming
(limited na po kasi ang time namin).Then, we proceeded to Penang Hill and rode in the cabin cars. We also
went to Komtar, the tallest building in Penang.At night was the announcement
of winners.On the way to our hotel, we tasted the delicious “apom”, it was cooked like a pancake
(I have chosen the peanut butter filling.)
Day 6 (July 8, Wednesday) – we packed up our bags and were bound to Kuala Lumpur.We checked-in at Tune Hotel-KL at 1 PM.Then, our group visited the Philippine Embassy..Our ambassador happily accepted us and we sang
several songs.He also offered us snack and we stayed there until 5 pm.Since PetronasTower was
already closed at that time (closing time was 3 PM) he called up the management to allow us to visit the place.So at 6pm, we went up at the 42nd floor, in the bridge connecting the twin towers.The
view was really awesome!!! At 8 pm, Ma’am Tahil wanted to go back to our hotel. Since I had a headache and Jehiel had
a slight fever, both of us joined our principal to Tune Hotel.I slept in the bed with Ma’am Tahil
while Jehiel slept in the next room. The rest of the group, namasyal pa po sila kaya wala silang tulog.
Day 7 (July 9, Thursday)- Our ETD-KL was 6am and ETA-Clark was 11:45 am.We ate our
lunch at Jollibee, NLEX and we arrived at 3pm in LHS.Nasiraan po ang van namin carrying our luggages in
Pampanga. Naayos naman po ang engine and reached our school at 6:30 pm.
Once again, thank you po ulit for allowing Kier and myself to join the said international contest.It was really a once in a lifetime experience for me and Class ’65 was a part of it.GOD
BLESS!!! STAY SAFE!!!

Subject: All set for Malaysian competition... Date: Friday, July 3, 2009, 12:44 AM
Everdearest PCCHIGH Batch '65,
Greetings to all of you my beloved sponsors!!! Kumusta
na po kayong lahat? Well, tuloy na po ang pag-alis namin
to compete in Malaysia tomorrow, Friday, July 3, 11:45 AM, via Air Asia in Clark .Our delegation is composed of 22 students, Prof. Corazon Tahil (principal), Sir Jonathan Jarin, Mr. Jimmy Gonzales
(registrar) and his wife, Prof. Silvia Ambag (IT teacher) and Mrs. Delos Reyes (mother of Ace, a chorale member).One of the delegates (Carl Inocentes), a 2nd Yr. College student enrolled at UP-Manila backed-out coz our
7-days stay in Penang (although he already had a plane ticket) will surely affect his grades.He was a
DOST scholar, classmate of Kuya Mark Galon and graduated 1st Honorable mention in LHS. Our assembly
time is 6:30 AM and we will be using the 2 school vehicles provided by PUP President, Dr. Dante Guevarra. So, our flight
schedule is DMIA (Clark) - ETD 11:45 AM while KLIA (Kuala Lumpur) - ETA 3:45 PM. We are going to stay at Tune Hotel
in Penang. It is not an airconditioned room (ceiling fan lang po ) and I will be sharing a room with Ate Lalaine
Advincula and another college sophomore student. Meanwhile, Berjaya hotel is the venue for the said "A Voyage
of Songs International Competition".
Actually, Malaysia listed 4 countries
as hot spots due to Influenza A (H1N1) scare which include the US, Australia, UK and our country.At present,
there were already 1,789 cases of said illness here but 86% were already healed.So, both in Diosdado Macapagal
International Airport (Clark) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport , we’ll be wearing facemasks and be monitored by
airport authorities.We will arrive in Manila on Thursday, July 9 at 3:35 pm. Aside from the 2 categoriesthat we will be joining, we will also perform in the Friendship Concert with all the choirs on Monday, July 6.
On Sunday morning of July 5th, we will also sing in a celebrated mass of the Filipino community group at Our Lady of Sorrow
Church in Penang.
The PUP officials informed us that
we'd no longer attend our classes the following day, Friday, July 10th as part of our quarantine period.Then,
we were advised to attend our classes on Monday, July 13th, wearing facemasks to avoid spreading the dreaded virus
(if any).
Once again, thank you my dear sponsors
for making this trip possible for us. My dear sponsors, please pray for our safety and hope our delegation wins.TAKE CARE!!!GOD BLESS…

Ma'a Lee and
Ma'am Liway:
Good Day Ma'am! It's been long since I last send a mail to you, to Ma'am Pia and to PUP Alumni
Association of Canada. I send you a copy of my email for them. Ngayon po, 3rd year na ako. Pahirap na po
ng pahirap mga subjects pero ok pa naman po so far. I still can manage my studies and off-the-school activities.
I hope to see you again. Up to now, I thank God for all the help you have given me. Please extend my warmest thanks
and regards to all batch '65. I attached my latest picture so that you can see how do I look now, because it's
been long since we last met. God Bless all of you.
----------- To all people behind PUP-AAC:
Good Day everyone. It's been long since I send you a mail.
I apologize for that. Currently, I'm in third year college, still an Accounting student. I thank you for another
year of support regarding my academic and financial needs.
I just turned 18 last March. I celebrated it with
my friends and family, just a simple dinner at our house. More matured- physically, emotionally and spiritually. I attached
one of my pictures to show how do I look now. :-)
Last summer, we attended our summer class. It's part
of our curriculum. We took up Calculus Applied to Business and Systems Analysis and Design. After I took and passed
the Special Qualifying Exam (it's part of our retention policy since I had a grade in my Financial Accounting Part I of lower
than 2), I enjoyed the rest of my vacation with some summer getaways. I went to the beach, in Matabungkay, Batangas
with my family. I also enjoyed our Choir Outing at Laguna. Despite of this off-the-school activities, there's a sad
part of me. I have 7 friends who are also my classmates. But they all failed. I was the only one who passed.
Nonetheless, life must go on for me and for them. Challenging but I know something good will come our way.
Now,
another shift to higher learning. All my subjects are major ones. It's hard, indeed. But I do hope that
I can make it all my way to becoming a CPA, and even more than that. I promise you that I will study very hard, even
harder, to repay your kindness and support. I wish to see you all if opportunity permits, so that I can personally thank
you for all the help you have given me. My family would also like to express their sincerest gratitude. I hope
to write more updates in my next mail.
I have a good
news po...I was elected as the Vice President of our class.
So sir hanggang
same time taga resibo at taga assist ng costumer. It was an Auto supply shop.
By the way, ang section ko po pala ngayong 2nd year ay
Loyalty. Yun din po yung section ni ate Mikarla nung 2nd yr siya.
Sige po.
hanggang dito nalang . Asahan niyo po na mas pag-iigihan ko pa ang pag-aaral ko ngayong 2nd yr. :)
take care
and godbless.

Sam

Dear Batch
"65,
A good
day to all of you!!!
I started
my summer preparing for the annual camp for special children of club journey. This club associates activities for special
children. I am one of the volunteers on that club. Our camp started april 16 and ended at the 25th of the same month. On the
first day of the camp, it was really hard for me because it is my first time to join on that camp. I became the guardian of
a child with mental retardation.But with the help of our Jesus our Lord i did very well. Because of the camp I became more
responsible and I know I am ready enough to face the challenges of the upcoming school..
Thank you
very much for supporting me and I assure you that I will do my best for this school year...
May the gracious
God grant you a good health.... God Bless!!!!!!!
Vacation is almost over and we need to face a lot of new
happenings, people, excitement and problems. Hayy, magpapasukan na po pala sa college na papasukan ko po sa Monday... I'm
Pero much fortunate
po kami kesa sa mga ibang block na iisa lang po ang kaklase nilang babae, hehe di ba po?:D. Ayun po, napapakwento lang po...:)
Samahan niyo po sana akong magpray para mamaintain ko po
yung scholarship ko. Please?
Thanks po sa lahat and I'm looking forward to be at my best
to keep in touch with you po. Salamat po sa moral support. God bless po palagi!

To PCCHgh65:
To the graduates
of PCCHigh batch 65, I want to thank all of you for the assistance you've gave during my high school life. Your batch has
been a great blessing to me and my family, that's why I thank God for your lives and your passion in helping students to pursue
their high school degree.
The financial aid you gave, lessen my problem in my projects or assignments.
There are also times that I need to stay late at night in the computer shops to finish school works (ex. on-the-job training
manual, I.T. subject requisites like power point presentation), and it cost lot of money and time. The aid also makes me possible
to go to school everyday. If you do not already know, my residence is far from school. I live at Sauyo, Novaliches,
Quezon
City. It takes me one hour of travel everyday to reach PUP and a lot of perseverance.
The help that all of you extended is not uselessly spent. I may not be the best in academics, but I assure you that I gave
my heart in everything I did in my high school days. From being a member of the Dance Guild to the President of the organization,
from a COCC 2007-2008 to a CAT officer 2008-2009 (Bravo 1st Platoon Leader and Administrative Officer), the Treasurer of Hi-Y
Club and the Executive Secretary of Student Central Organization. I graduated as the 7th Honorable Mention of the PUPLHS batch
2008-2009, and this only proves that all of you efforts are not wasted.
Again, thank you for making
my high school life possible. And in this another four years of College, I humbly ask for you help. I wanted to be one of
your college scholars, if you will only allow me. I will take my college degree in PUP and I'm now enrolled to the College of Business Bachelor of Science
in Entrepreneurial Management. It is an honor for me if you will grant this request.
Everdearest Sir Jet, Hello po!!! I hope you're doing fine and in good health. Yes,
my dear sir, we're all set for our Malaysian chorale competition. Tuloy na tuloy na po ang pag-compete namin sa Penang!!! Sir Jarin
had already booked our flight at Air Asia. Our plane ticket are now on his possession.
About 2 members are not going due to financial reason. Anyway, there are 6 incoming 2nd year college students who are
joining us which include former Batch '65 scholar, Lalaine "Lala" Advincula (she's an alto). She's an original
member of LHS Chorale and PUP Bagong Himig Serenata. So, we're 3 scholars who will participate in the said contest.
Ang dami na po naming singers, hahaha!!! Actually, she was with us when we performed during our fund-raising concert. Well, somebody
paid for her Malaysian trip. Our daily practice (whole day) will start on May 4 from 9 am onwards. Sir Jarin reminded
us that we can go to any place we want to spend our vacation but we must be in Manila
by May for our practice. BTW, I forgot to tell you that my family (the Tamayo clan, my mother's side) is still grieving
with the death of my Tita Beth, my mom's eldest sister last March 28 due to asthma... She was 48 years old, no
family of her own since she was single and she stayed with my Tita Percy's house in Cavite.
Do you know that last April 1st was the Graduation Day of my only sibling, Anjelica, in grade school and also our Recognition
Day? My mom left my sister alone during the graduation rites so she can attend my Recognition day... Umuwi
po ng mag-isa ang kapatid ko kasi po ang lola ko ang nasa burol po ng tita ko. My Tita Percy and her 2 brothers were
also busy with the papers/documents for the funeral/burial of their deceased sister. So I was also a busy body attending
the school and the wake of my Tita. After the internment, lahat po kami pagod dahil sa puyat, atbp. At present,
i'm here in Cavite with my family to pray for her soul.
...
Bye for now... Take care... God Bless!!! Thank you po ulit...
to
batch '65, good day po! kamusta po? sorry po kung ngaun lng ako nakapag-email. medyo busy po kasi sa studies. anyway

Good
day! How are you po and your family? I pray that you'll always be in a favorable situation.
We had our commencement
last April 3 and afterwards we had a lunch out courtesy of Ma'am Lina. I was just so glad that Ma'am Lina was able to attend
the graduation day. She even had a leave in her office just to spend time with us. I deeply appreciate her concern for us.
After the graduation, we took pictures and it was memorable. Actually, there was a funny incident regarding this picture taking.
It was just after seein the pictures that I realized that there were pictures of me and Ma'am Lina with which Ma'm Lina carried
my toga. It was an unforgettable experience. In the picture, we were like a mother and son. Anyway, I really consider her
as my second mother.
Ma'am Liway, Ate Kim Cardenas and her mom, as well as Mrs. Emie Leong (the mother of Aimee)
were also present. I am very much thankful for all their support.
We had a lunch out at Max' restaurant right after
the graduation. We talked about our future plans regarding college. Ma'am Liway was also there to support and congratulate
us. Ma'am Lina gave me a gift with cash. Ate Kim Cardenas and Mrs. Leong (Aimee's mom) also gave me gifts. I am so grateful
that there are kind, generous and thoughtful people around me. We took pictures while at the restaurant and also before parting
ways. It was really a fun experience.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Sir Jet, Ma'am Lina
and the whole Santos family for giving me an opportunity to finish my studies in high school I really appreciate
the time, effort and concern you had given to me.
Thank you also to all the Batch '65, especially Ma'am Liway
and Mam Lee, for helping us all throughout.
I will not waste all the effort you had exerted and help you had given
to me. I would not have accomplished all the achievements in my high school if not because of you. Thank you very much!
Right
now, I am preparing myself for college life in U.P. I know that it is a different kind of journey. A tougher one. But I know
that with supportive people like you, there is not much to worry about. I promise to focus on my studies and persevere even
harder. Thank you for giving me assurance that you'll still support me in college.
Sir, before i forget, I'll be attaching
with this e-mail some pictures about the graduation. Again, thank you so much for all the support and God bless!!!
Ayun po...Napakaganda
po nung nagdaang week, our last week of being high school students...
April 1 recognition
day po...I thought I would only receive a merit but what surprised me is the GOODNESS of the Lord that day because I also
received other 2 certificates of recognition. Aside from getting a merit card award, I also received the "Best in Essay Writing"
award and Outstanding Hi-Yer award.
at walang walls na pumapagitan sa bawat section", ganun pa man po, we need to move on di ba po?
in touch po ako hehe...
*May reunion
Respectfully
yours,
Arielle Erika

to all of you to share the good news that I have already received my Gold Medal as 1st Honor for the 2nd
year during the Recognition Day last April 1.Aside from that, I was also a recipient
of Best in English (Communication Arts) II, Best in Science II (Biology),Best
in Practical Arts II ( Bookkeeping, Steno, Entrepreneurship),Best in Health,
Model Student and Merit Card Award.I was very glad and thankful to the
Lord for the said awards.Kaya lang po,my happiness was incomplete coz nobody from Batch ‘65 was there to witnessed the said event.I really missed the presence of Ma’am Liway (she was not feeling well, maysakit po si Ma’am
when I called her up the night before), Ma’am Lee and Sir Ray Contreras.My
co-scholars who were also recognized that day were Cer Luigi dela Cruz (4th year-3rd honor, merit card
awardee), Arielle Valerio (4th Year- Special award for winning the Essay Writing in Filipino, Outstanding Hi-Y’er),
Kristine Manlises (4th Year-Outstanding Hi-Y’er),Joanah Ramos (1st Year-Merit Card awardee) and Samantha Pandez (1st Year-Merit card
awardee).
As for our Malaysian trip, Sir Jonathan
Jarin, my conductor, happilyannounced to me that he had already received the
money from Sir Jimmy Gonzales as financial assistance for me and Kier Escueta.My passport was released last March 23.As for our fund-raising concert, it was a success!!! It was held last March 17 at the PUP Gymnasium.Some of the performers were PUPLHS faculty, PUPLHS Dance Guild, ARR band with special participation of
multi-platinum awardee of the music industry, the famous duo MYMP.Aside from
me and Kier, the other Batch ’65 scholar who performed that day was Dance Guild President, Ate Khristine Manlises (7th
Honorable Mention for this SY), an excellent dancer and choreographer.Do
you know that it was she who also choreographed the most applauded “coutillion dance” last JS Prom?It only shows how talented Batch ’65 scholars are.
As
the school year ends, we held an elections for the new set of officers for this incoming SY 2009-2010..Since I’m an incoming 3rd Year student, I can accept the position of Vice President so
automatically, I will be the next President of the school organizations when I’m in my 4th year. . .Thus, I was elected Vice President for Math and Science Club and Vice President-Internal
Affairs for Junior Kataga, the honor society ofour school.Although our principal, Ma’am Tahil, wanted me to lead the Hi-Y (YMCA), I can no longer accept the
said resposibility coz a student can only hold 2 Presidency position of our school organizations.
Once again, thank you
very, very much my dear sponsors for all your untiring support to me.GOD BLESS!!!Stay safe…
First of all I would like to thank you for all the help you extended in me with regards
to my studies. Your one of the reasons for me to be the ninth placer in school Yes, I am the 7th Honorable
Mention in our Batch 2008-2009. All of you inspired me to continue in my studies and to maintain my grades for the past
years. I may not be that good since I really focus on extra curricular, but your advices and help made me a better person.
Recently, I graduated in our Citizenship Advancement Training (CAT). From being a COCC batch 2007-2008 to an officer
particularly the Bravo 1st Platoon Leader and the Administrative Officer of the CAT batch 2008-2009, I have succeeded
a great challenge that tests my ability. Now that I'm a relieve officer, I will really miss the times that I devout in
this organization. Please forgive me for the times that I did not e-mail you. I know it's not a good
thing, that's why I'm saying Sorry. But again, thank you for all your support. May the Lord God grant more blessings and
protect wherever you go, including your whole family. Thank you, Godspeed!
Lapit na po graduation. Last friday po inannounce na po ung pasok sa Top 10 ng lhs.
At malaking blessing po ni Lord, nakasama po ako, 2nd honorable mention po ako(top 4). I've passed my credentials din
po for beign the best in Filipino. Sana po makuha ko ulit. Hehe.
Although maybe
it's not the Lord's will na makapasok ako sa U.P, He made a way naman po na makapasok ako sa isa ring magandang University.
Nung una po, sabi namin ng mother ko po na makapasa man po sa La salle, di rin po ako dun mag-aaral kasi nga po di namin talaga
kakayanin. Tapos po biglang lumabas yung result and pumasa po ako with my first choice which is ECE. Then, with my application
form asking for scholarship, I was eventually sent a letter scheduling me for an interview. Ayun po, blessing po
ulit, after the Vice Dean of the college of Engineering interviewed me, nung lumabas po ung result, 100% scholarship po yung
granted sakin(which covers the tuition fee and miscellaneous, plus 3000php book allowance per term, free ROTC and P.E. uniform,
Andami pong dapat ipagpasalamat sa Lord at sa inyo po for being an inspiration for students like me to study hard and
harder.
God bless us all po....:)
Good Day Sir! I have a good news po. I passed the course of Electronics and Communications
Engineering (my first choice in U.P. Diliman) in the UPCAT. But honestly I have a problem po with regards to finances. The
tuition fee is P1000 per unit. I really want to go to that school because it will surely open many doors of opportunities
for me. And according to the data gathered by the Commission on Higher Education and Department of Education, UP Diliman tops
the listing in the Top 20 schools of this country. I'm not saying that PUP is not a good school but I really feel that I am
very much lucky to pass the UPCAT because more or less than 70,000 hopeful graduating students took the said entrance exam.
It is really a once in a lifetime opportunity.
My Mom informed Ma'am Liway about the good news and asked for some
help regarding the scholarship like what you have told us. I hope that there will be a good result regarding my application
for a scholarship in U.P.
Thank you for your time and God bless!!! Hahaha...sobrang masaya lang po....
First of all, I just want to say sorry for I have
not emailed you for a long time. I hope that you will accept my apologies.
I just want to inform you that I have won the
4th place in the Bible Quiz Bee during the foundation day of our school. And I am so happy that I have made my grades higher
that what I have got in my first grading.
I promise you that I will maintain my grades high
and I will give my very best to make it. As a sign of how much I appreciate all those things you did for me.
Thank you very much for you are still my sponsor
even though I have got a low grades.
Una po sa lahat, gusto ko pong bumati sa inyo ng magandang araw...:)
gusto ko lang po ulit magshare ng mga nangyari po sa amin sa Baguio conference
(YMCA) po...
We had real great fun po and at the same time, we learn a lot of leadership
attitudes and values that we may apply to our daily lives. Salamat po sa inyo, kung wala po ang tulong nio, hindi po kami
makakapunta dun ng ganun.Salamat po talaga!
We made lots of friends din po, and many of them wanted to stay for long
with us. Marami din po kaming natutunan sa mga nakashare po namin...
at di lang po yun...
As usual, meron po ulit contest dun na nasasakupan ng theme na "what
a wonderful world"...
Our school made lots of entries and I was blessedly chosen. I joined
Slogan making contest and I won 3rd place this season. I really thank God for making things like this one possible.
at isa pa po, lumabas na po ung NCAE or National Career Assessment Examination
dito po sa school and I ranked 8th among all fourth year students. A big thanks unto God po at sa inyo na nagsisilbing inspiration
ko rin po sa pagpupursige sa pag-aaral...
hanggang dito po muna and I hope i can write again sooner or later...
This is my first time to write a letter personally addressed to you,sir. I jsut want to thank you po for being a part
of Batch '65 Foundation. You all are truly big blessings to us students. Salamat po sa walang sawang pagsupport niyo po sa
mga scholars ninyo po not only in the high school, pati na rin po sa iba pa po ninyong natutulungan.
I pray that God will continue to bless you more. Financially, physically, spiritually at lahat na po ng aspeto ng buhay
niyo po sana ay ibless ni Lord.
In return po sa pagi-impart nio po ng blessings nio, may you expect that we, your scholars, will do our best with the
guidance of the Lord to excel more in our studies and to achieve more for the glory of God, and to give back honor to our
sponsors as a sign of our gratitude.
Bilang isa po sa scholars nio, I promise not only to excel in the extra curricular, but also in academics, on which I
am doing really fine. I've constantly ranked in our batch's top 10 students.
Sa December 13-16 po, may leadership training po kami sa Baguio. May contest po ulit dun. I pray that I will win again,
for you batch, for my family, and for God. May you also pray for me too.
Again, thanks so much sir. I hope that I will see you at the lunch-out this December, Im really looking forward to see
you sir:)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year nga rin po pala:)
Sorry po ngayon lang po ulit ako nakasulat sa inyo.
Nag-oojt na po kasi kami and lagi na po ako late nakakauwi.Good thing po may 1-day break po kami ngayon.:)
I'm so happy to tell you po na nakakuha na po ulit ako ng merit card award this past second quarter. And through
God's grace, I ranked 7th among the 4th year students.
Ayun po. Yan po ay ilan sa greatest achievements ko last second quarter.
Tapos po, last November 12-14, nagkaroon po ng Founding Celebration ang LHS. Different Organizations like IT-BDA club
and SCO conducted different contests. As an essay writing champion, I wasn't allowed to join the contest anymore. So, our
professor told me that I will be the "secret judge", and no one should ever know my role. As an appreciation, she gave me
a gift and a certificate.:)
Because I was not permitted to join the essay contest, I joined the Impromptu speaking contest (Filipino). A week before,
I got high fever and cough and colds. During the contest, I was having a hard time thinking of ways how could I keep
the cough from bursting. Fortunately, during the contest proper, it stopped but I wasnt able to give my full voice force because
of the cough.
Then, I wasn't expecting. After some while, it was announced that I got the 2nd spot or the !st runner-up award. I was
so happy that even though I didn't do well in the voice tone, the judges attentively listened to the message of my inpromptu
speech which enabled me to have the 2nd spot.
ayun poh.:)
Salamat nga rin po pala sa regalo niyo po sa aming lima nila Geraldine, Cer, Khristine at Mikarla na makasama ulit sa
Baguio conference. It is a big thing for us, and without you, we, ourselves, may not be able to finance our own trip. Salamat
po! Maybe this time i will be joining the slogan writing in english/essay in filipino kasi nagchampion na po ako last year

How are you po? First of all, I would like to extend my gratitude to you and the whole Batch '65 for helping
us, all scholars, with our financial needs regarding the Hi-Y Baguio Seminar. Thank you for all your support.
I want
to share some good news about my studies. This 2nd grading, I unexpectedly got the 1st rank of the 4th year level because
actually I was only rank 3 last grading period. Nakabawi lang po ako because I strived hard. My general average is 92.50.
Actually, I'm not expecting or anticipating anything. All I know is that I'll be among the top 3 students of our batch. I
also want to tell you my experiences about the academic contests I have joined. Last November, I, together with my two classmates,
joined the KATAGA Quiz Bee Contest. This contest is a general information quiz bee which is open for all high school and college
students. At first,we thought that this is a group contest consisting of three students each group. We're not so worried because
we knew that we can depend on each other once the competition begins. Then came the day of the competition. We were surprised
to know that this is an individual contest having an elimination and final round. Honestly, I was a bit worried because I
was not able to review for this contest. The contest proper started with a written elimination round which will determine
the top 10 qualifiers who will proceed to the final round. Luckily, I, together with my other two classmates qualified. We
are the only high school students in the competition. I was just doing my best in the final round and was not fully aware
about the scores. Anyways, I'm not expecting anything, knowing that I have not reviewed for this contest. I unexpectedly tied
with a college student from the College of Communications.
We had the tie breaker which will determine the 1st runner up. Luckily, I knew the answer and became the 1st runner up. Actually,
I was just one correct answer away from the champion. I also joined the Filipino Essay Writing Contest of the LHS' 54th Founding
Anniversary and I became the 1st runner up. It was actually a hectic day for me because on the same day, I was also busy arranging
the booth of the IT BDA Club and the Math and Science Quiz Bee proper. I also did all the questions for the elimination round
and the powerpoint presentation for the IT-BDA Quiz Bee. It was tiring but it was all worth it. We were able to do all the
activities smoothly.
I also want to share my On the Job Training experiences. This OJT is part of our Office Procedures
subject. We need to finish a 150 hours OJT. Every week, we need to do a narrative report regarding our experiences and work
done in our respective offices. After finishing the 150 hours requirement, we are going to write our thesis. I am having my
OJT in the Internal Audit Office of the University. Ma'am Ruth Carlos, my supervisor, was very much hospitable in accepting
me in her office. She even entrusted me the task of doing the design for their tarpaulin concerning the seminar of the College of Accountancy.
Also, all the employees there are always kind-hearted to me. They even give me food during break times. I also encoded the
Summary of Sales and Expenses for the months of August to October. This week I'll be encoding the Code of Ethics Review Test
for the College of Accountancy Auditing
Class. I always go home at 8:00 p.m. except at times that I need to do some important matters
regarding my academical or extra-curricular activities.
I also designed the logo and the poster for the set of officers
of the IT-BDA Club. I want to share it to you so I will send it as an attachment with this e-mail.
I also texted Ma'am
Lina some news regarding my studies.
Sir, I heard from Ma'am Liway na hahabol daw po kayo from the airport sa lunch
out namin ng mga scholars on August 20. I hope to see you soon. Thank you and God Bless!

Dear PCCHS Batch ’65,
Hi, my dearest sponsors! Hope all of you are doing fine.
Just recently, we celebrated the LHS 54th Founding Anniversary from Nov. 12-14.
There were several activities like cheer dance competition and academic contests such as Science, Math, Bookkeeping Olympiad,
Impromptu, Extemporaneous, Steno Transcription, Essay, Speed Typing and Bible Quiz. As MSC officer, I was disqualified
to join the Math and Science Quiz so instead I participated in Bookkeeping Olympiad. Thanks God… I won over 15
contestants and was declared the Bookkeeping Olympiad Champion. I was leading all the way in Easy, Average and Difficult
rounds.. I garnered 59 points while the 2nd place only got 32 points. They awarded me a certificate
and a gold medal (only the champions were given medals). If you still remember, kuya Mark Galon was the champion last
year. Well, I guessed it was a back-to-back victory of Batch 65 scholars. My co-scholars who also won were Cer
Luigi Dela Cruz- 2nd place, Essay Writing (Filipino) and Arielle Erika Valerio- 2nd place, Impromptu
(Filipino).
For the Thanksgiving
Mass, I led the Responsorial Psalm. Afterwards, I joined the chorale in singing. As SCO (we’re the
over-all in charge of the 3 days event) officer, I assisted in distributing food and drinks to the guest judges.
Last August 22,
the Alfonso Yuchengco Company donated to LHS several copies of “Noli MeTangere” books. This
was in line with their project’s “Buhay Rizal Values Campaign”. I was greatly honored to receive
the donation in behalf of my batch and the whole LHS community. The donor requested to our principal that a student
representative (that’s me) from the 2nd year should accept the donation since they are the incoming junior
students who will be using the said textbooks next year. It was a simple ceremony attended by my principal, Prof. Corazon
Tahil, the company’s lady executive, 2 photographers and a man operating the video cam to record the ceremony.
My principal beamed with pride as I delivered my “thank you” speech for the said donation.
Again, thank you
so much to all of you. God Bless!!
hello po.. I hope you're doing good po .. antagal ko na po palang hindi
nakapagmail. sorry po if you haven't heard from me .. I hope you and your family is having a great time there po..
ahmm.. my first semester in PUP just ended. and I'm so happy that I
get through it well. there's a lot of fun in my first sem. it's a big roller coaster ride and I couldn't wait till I
get into the next sem. and these are my grades for this sem.
we still do not have our grades in Management and Sociology. there might
be some problem that caused the delay. but i hope not.
about my grades, I'm really satisfied with my grades. especially in Accounting
and Filipino. In our Final Departmental Exam in Accounting, I ranked 9th among the freshmen. I'm happy for that, although I
know I can do better next time. In Filipino, I was thrilled because I didn't expect to have that grade.
perhaps our Finals in Filipino contributed much to my grade. for our final exam on that subject, we were asked to conceptualized
and make a music video of two OPM songs (one english song and one filipino song). I know it didn't relate much to our
course, but we really had fun and we learned a lot from that project. I'm very proud of our music videos, being the over-all
director and editor for both videos. if you want and if you have time, you can see our videos through these URL :
Edited by: Mark Vincent M. Galon and Dennis Bayabos
Over-all Directors: Mark Vincent M. Galon and Monina N. Dilag
** about the song: we presented here a story of friendship founded and tested
through time in a place which was called their "tambayan". our professor like this more maybe because it was fresh and new.
and the story really says something.
enough of that. moving on, i'm so happy as well in my grades in Finance,
English, Philippine Literature,and PE. i was surprised with my grades in Finance and Phil Literature because our professors
in these subjects are both kinda .... and i'm glad they think i deserve those grades.
you know, PUP now goes online. we have our grades encoded through our SIS
(Student Information System). through this system, we can have access to our records of accounts, grades, professors, schedules,
and even messages from officials for some announcement. and even our enrollment will be done through this. it was
really great to have this technology (at least it is evident where our tuition goes).
about my life in PUP, so far so great. it was a better experience than i
expected. because at first, i thought it will be just the same. but i was wrong because it was totally different. im also
trying to make myself visible in our college. participating in orgs and contests will do. actually, during the 104th Foundation
Anniversary of PUP, i joined the University Mathematics Quiz Bee and fortunately, I won together with my teammates. i was
so glad that i represented my college well in that contest. We won 2nd place (College
of Engineering placed 1st and College
of Science is 3rd). but on the other hand, i felt some guilt because
PUPLHS also joined in the contest. i want them to win as well. I confided them first before deciding to join the contest,
because i might hurt their feelings for being one of LHS competitors. but my former Math professor told me that it was just
okay and they're happy for me. i was grateful for their positive reaction.
hmm. what else do I want to share ? oh, this coming November 22, the annual
10-pin PCCPUPLHSAA bowling competition will be held again. and i, together with my former classmates, were invited again to
assist in the competition. last year po kasi, we were there to assist and they said they would love to have us again. I'm
so happy that we can help again on the said contest, although we're not one of the contestants, Im still excited because I'm
an alumnus now and i will be glad to help. i wonder why po Batch 65 do not participate in the contest. perhaps your batch
will do good there po.
ayon po. that's all i want to share with you. sorry po if this is too long.
thank you po! ah, i forgot po pala. i have a question lang po about dun sa scholarship. do i still need to apply pa po ? di
ko po kasi alam kung ano po gagawin ko. i can't contact Ma'am Liway po kasi po sira po yung cellphone ko po. ayon po. thank
you po!! God bless po. Keep safe po. God bless! thank you very much po.
your scholar,
Mark Vincent M. Galon
Dear Sir Jet,
Good
day SIr! I know it's been long since my last e-mail and I am really sorry. I've been busy these past few days and our computer
is having problems lately.
How are you? I hope you're doing fine. I heard from the news about the global economic crisis
and the U.S. recession. Many OFWs are losing their jobs especially those working there
in America. We are also experiencing the
crisis here in the Philippines especially
that our economy is tied with the Americans.
I would like to thank you for still continuing your support to us scholars
despite the present economic problems.
Last September 2-5, I attended the UPITTC ( University of the PhilippinesInformationTechnologyTrainingCenter) seminar with
my teacher and classmate. I learned much about the new trends in technology as well as career opportunities in information
technology. It's great to know that there are many people who earn money just by blogging. Advertisers pay these bloggers
for posting their advertisements along with the blogs. Bloggers do this as a side line for extra income and this extra income
doesn't mean little income because successful bloggers are being paid in dollars. It is really great to live in a computer
era.
We just had our 2nd grading examination this week and I got good results. I almost got a perfect score in Mathematics
wherein I got 84 out of 85 items. I hope I'll get good grades in my 2nd grading report card. By the way, my 1st grading average
is 91.38.
Now we are having our semestral break and we'll be back in school by November 3. I will send my 2nd grading
report card as soon as we get it.
Tuloy po ba ang pag-uwi niyo dito sa December? Sir, I hope to see you soon.

To our dear
benefactors,
Good day! First semester of my Second year in college has just ended. Days passed by so fast.
I just arrived from my enrollment. 1st semester has been our adjustment period. It's because we shifted from Basic Accounting
to a new level, Financial Accounting. Accept my sincerest gratitude for your help, support financially and morally.
Let me share some of the activities or better yet my accomplishments this semester.
Our class was assigned
to conduct a University Wide Seminar at the Bulwagang Balagtas, NinoyAquinoLearningResourcesCenter.
I was so happy because we see the fruits of our efforts. A "formal" world opened for me; formal class reporting (wearing corporate
attire) is a requirement, formal class discussions and formal study habits. I think those things made me more
mature as a student. The pressure on my studies intensified, but as of now, I try to work things as easy, as simple,
and as balance as I can. Last July, we celebrated our Accounting Week. It was fun. Recently, we just had
our University Foundation Day. It was also fun, but for us, the fun is limited because the Finals Week and the foundation
day almost overlapped. So instead, we just drop on some booths.
This semester break, as a member of the
SK Council, we had our Basketball Cup. Also, regularly, I attend my Sunday Church Service. I also do some book
readings and advance readings of my next lessons.
Again, thank you very much to all of you. My family also would
like to extend their warmest thanks to all of you. May the Lord bless you and your family a thousand-fold! Until
my next mail. I hope that I will have a lot of stories to share with you in the next months. Thank you very much.
Una po sa lahat, gusto kong magsorry kc ngayon lang po ulit ako nakasulat(2
weeks after 1st periodical na po eh!)
I hope that you will be glad to hear that I ranked 10th last first quarter
of s.y.08-09.
I think I had my card in my locker but i can still remember some of my grades:
English-91
Physics-90
Filipino-91
p.a.-89
CAT-91
office procedures-90
health-93
music-91
p.e.-96
I promise to do better this quarter.
As for now, I just to share this good news to all of you...
Our Filipino teacher has chosen me to be one of the High School's entry to
the academic competition (essay writing contest). The other participant is a 2nd year student.
I was completely surrounded by college students the time we went to the venue.
At first, I was very nervous, knowing that the other contestants were already college students. But then, I still said to
myself that no matter what, I'll do it.
After we were given the topic, I wrote my piece. It's about PUP soaring to
greater heights to achieve peace and unity (something like that).
My mentor said that whatever happens, God is in control.She said, "I know
you've given your best."
After 2 days, a really big deal surprised me. My classmate(jedidiah) called
me and said, "Arielle, tawag ka ni Sir Ortiz".(Sir Ortiz is a college Filipino teacher;he used to teach in high school, one
of the organizer of the event)
Then, in front of my classmates, he said"Oi class, magpapaburger to, First
place sa Essay writing contest!"
After he left, it was my mentor who came, happily saying,"Arielle, First
place ka!Praise the Lord!"
I was very happy with the news, I know that the Lord answered my prayer,
and used me as a vessed of his wisdom.
~~~~~
I hope I have made you smile with the news.
Next time, I will be bringing a better update to all of you. Thanks so much
for your support and time reading my email.
There were
several activities that made me busy for the past months. Last week of June, we had a program as tribute to our outgoing
principal, Dr. Menchie Castolo who later transferred at PUP Open University. I made a short thank you speech for her
in behalf of my class and gave our class gift, an inspirational book as token of appreciation. Afterwards, we also welcomed
our new principal, my last year's English teacher, Prof. Corazon Tahil. By July, as part of SCO's project, we planted tree
seedlings in LHS compound one Saturday morning with the help of other Club officers. Also, I'm now a member of LHS
chorale. Pardon me my dear sponsors especially to Mam Lee, Mam Becky, Mam Suki, Sir Jun L., Sir Jhun A., and Sir Jet.
I knew you were all concerned with my health and studies but I joined the chorale so I can be exempted from my
Music class. To begin with, old students told us that playing the guitar and piano were included in our Music lessons
. Students are requested to play one musical piece for these instrument to pass the practical test. If we don't
have a guitar, we can just borrow. Since I have no guitar nor my mother can't afford to buy me one, my only option
is to join the chorale. Luckily, I passed the 3 elimination rounds because I was a former choir member in grade school.
Anyway, if other chorale members are not attending this subject, I'm still attending mine because I'm really interested
to learn how to play said instruments. I just exempt myself in quizzes, practical test, projects and periodical exams.
We have already performed in several school programs and the latest was yesterday's awarding ceremony. We have
our choral practice after class, 4:30PM-6 PM from Wed, Thurs and Friday. Anyway, I don't intend to stay long in the
chorale and I'll quit anytime I feel it will be a hindrance in my studies. I hope all of you understand my situation. Once
again, maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat!
Good day! How are you po? It's been long since my last e-mail. I am really sorry for that. I've
been busy lang po this past few months. I'm really grateful for all the financial and moral support you and the whole Batch
'65 have given to me all these past three years and for continuing to do so. Thank you po. Thank you rin po for the book allowance
increase. The Batch '65 had agreed to increase the Book Allowance because Sir Jaime, the Registrar, had mentioned to them
that books' prices increased. I am also thankful to Ma'am Lina for increasing our Book Allowance as well.
Last August
2, I took the UPCAT and I hope I'll be able to pass. There were so many examinees and the traffic was really heavy. Me and
my Mom had a little problem going to my designated test center but luckily there was an UPCAT vehicle which helps UPCAT takers
who are having difficulties going to their test centers. We were then transported to NCPAG, my designated test center. I was
quite relieved after the exam. We just have to wait until February for the results to be posted. I am excited and quite nervous
about what the result would be.
Next week from September 2-5 I'll be attending a seminar in UP about computer and
technology. This will definitely help me to become more well-informed about the fast changing technology.
I'll e-mail
and keep in touch with you po whenever possible.
anyway po, i hve stories to tell po..
we had our midterm week last week po. and we already have taken
the midterm examinations in 5 subjects (Accounting, Literature, Finance, Management, English). in those exams, im very happy
that i've got high scores. in Management, we had an open book test so it became easy for us to pass that test. we still haven't
took the midterm exams in PE (we will have a practical exam in freestyle swimming), Filipino and Sociology.
this coming August 29, i will compete in the Freshmen Inter-section
Accounting Quiz Bee. i'm the representative of our class and i wish that i would represent our section well. also, the same
day, we will have our Midterm in Sociology. so i think this will be a tough week for me.
currently, as a project in Filipino, we are doing a music video
for two OPM songs. one of which is an original composition of my classmate. we're really having fun in the making of the music
video.
hmm. what else ? you know, PUP now has this SIS (student information
system). it's part of the development project of the president of the university and it benefits the students, particularly
the freshmen. with this SIS, we can have remote access with our subjects, professors and the whole university online. it is
really cool that we have that system cause it will be really be a help.
hmm. i guess that's it for now. i'll e-mail you po as soon as
i have the chance after the Quiz Bee this friday. thank you po and God bless. take good care po.
Dear PCCHS Batch '65, Hi! Kumusta na po kayong lahat? I hope all of you
are doing fine. Last Tuesday, June 10, was our first day in school. My co-scholars namely Aimee Leong and Christine
Tamayo are my classmates. That day, I was elected as Class President of II-Loyalty and 2nd Yr. Rep. of Information
Technology Club (ITC). Also, I'm the incumbent Treasurer of Math and Science Club and 2nd Yr. Rep. of Student Central
Organization. For sure I will be very busy for this year with the different club activities. Don't worry my dear benefactors,
I will do my best to maintain my No. 1 ranking in school. As always, I will follow Ma'am Lee Barcelon's advice that
I should focus more in my studies and allot only a portion of my time to extra-curricular activities so my studies
will not suffer. My first day in school was a very tough one with so many assignments mostly research in the internet.
We have books in Science and Filipino but the assigned topics were not discussed in the books. On the contrary, there
were no books in Bookkeeping and Keyboarding so I made researches on Basic Accounting (Bookkeeping) and the computerized
report of the History of Typewriting/Keyboarding (Keyboarding) was to be submitted the following day. My mother
and I went to a computer shop at 10PM and we were out by 12 midnight. Back home, I continued answering my homeworks
and went to sleep at 2 AM. My mother woke me up at 5 AM so I can continue on my unfinished homeworks. To sum it
all, I had only a 3 hours sleep (grabe!!!). For the succeeding days, I usually went to bed at 12 midnight or 1 PM. Whew!
So when Saturday came, I slept the whole day. What a relief!!! Also for that week, we had our first quizzes in Science
and Filipino. Well, I got a perfect scores for both subjects. Thanks God, it was a pretty good start for me... Yesterday,
Ma'am Lee, Ma'am Liway and Ma'am Lina visited us at LHS since they were scheduled to interview students for the
new batch of scholars. We had a little talk about school activities and other matters. In the afternoon, I had
a SCO meeting regarding the organization fair we will be holding for all the students. We are just waiting for the principal's
approval of the date. Again, I'm very thankful to all of you for your undying support. God Bless!!!
I'm truly sorry for not emailing you for a very very long time. But I am
promising that
I'll email you much more from now on.
I also want to tell you that all the blessings that you gave me were very
useful to me.
Because of those blessings, I was able to buy all my requirements for my studies. And thank you so much for that.
I also wish to inform you that I shared the money you gave me with my brothers and sister. I share my blessings with them
to help my parent's to ease their burden and responsibility to us.
This letter is to show you how grateful we are for your help to us. Thank you very much again and again I'm sorry for
not emailing you. God Bless!
Hello poh, Madam. How are you? I am sorry if my letter was late.
I became so
busy in these past few days for school. I hope you will accept
my reasons.
I'm very thankful for meeting generous people that support my
studies. It
is a big help to me, especially my parents. It helps me on my tuition.
The year, I became a scholar lessened my problems. I'm so glad to receive your help in my tuition. Thank
you for the years of supporting me. I'm glad for having the years that I'm part of your generous batch. For my
last year here
in LHS I would like to thank you. I know this letter was not
enough to pay
back your generosity. Sorry if sometimes I forgot to email about
my life.
I will promise to write a letter monthly or weekly.
Again, I thank you all and I will promise to update you on my activities
not only in
school but my personal life. I hope you will continue supporting our
A blessed day to all of
you. Your batch is really a blessing to me and I thank you for that. I'm sorry for the times that I forgot to send email or even not exerting an effort to do so.
Anyways, I just want to share my vacation
trip last vacation. I went to Zambales, April27-29, 2008 for a Christian Youth Camp. The place was good and I met a
lot of friends. My faith in God became more deep in
that camp. I also taught the children about the Bible during our Church's DailyVocationBibleSchool (DVBS). DVBS is an activity that aims to preach the Gospel to children that do not have a personal relationship with God.
And that is it. Again thank you for your hlep. I was able to buy my school supplies and books and to pay my tuition
fee because of your Batch. I'm in my 4th year in high school and I promise to do my best in order to graduate.
Letter To: "lee BARCELON" Date: Wednesday, June 11, 2008, 11:47 PM
To my benefactors,
The summer class has just ended
(finally…) and the first semester for this school year has just started.
Last summer some students take the SQE
or Special Qualifying Exam.They need to take this so that they can continue in Accountancy.Those who take this exam have grades of 2 or below in any of the Accounting, Math, Computer and English subjects.Luckily, I did not take this exam.
The summer is a little bit tiring because
of the limited time in studying.We take up the Logic and Finance subjects.
By the way, here are my grades for the
second semester:
Fundamentals of Accounting, Part II1.25
Communication Skills Part II1.5
Pagbasa at Pagsulat sa iba’t ibang
Disiplina1.75
College Algebra2.0
Principles of Marketing1.75
Arts, Man and Society (Humanities)1.75
General Psychology1.75
Physical Education2.0
CWTSPassed
While my grades in the summer are:
Basic Business Finance2.0
Logic2.5
I’m very ashamed and disappointed
of some of my grades in the second semester and the summer.Because of this, I should study even harder
than before.
Here is some news about the
school.Before the end of the second semester last school year, there was an issue to increase the tuition
fee for the incoming first year students and to have all of the enrolling students to pay a developmental fee of 1,000 pesos.Luckily, this policy was not imposed for this school year but the freshmen paid a 250 pesos developmental fee this
enrolment.Most activists and the student council demanded that these freshmen should not pay 250 pesos
because the CHED declared that there should be no tuition fee increase in all of the state colleges and universities.The student council insists that there should be a refund of the 250 pesos.
The first semester for this school year
has just started. I think most of our professors are the “responsible one”.I think, they are
those who will attend the class every meeting.This would be an advantage for us.
Thank you for the allowance that you
have given me last time.I use that for the enrolment and payment of some other fees and for the books.Thank you very much!
Sa totoo lang po, this have been a really enjoyable vacation.Full of fun po. But as all of you have known, sa pasukan po
4th year na po ako (pati po si cer, geraldine,at khristine).So, instead of joining summer outings and having lots of recreation, I
just decided to stay home and review my past lessons for the U.P. admission test at magprepare po for this school year.Ayun
po...
Last May 29 po, nag-enroll na po kami(un po kc ang assigned date para sa 'ming incoming 4th year). That day po I also
passed my application for U.P. Sa August po ang exam nun po. Sabi po ng registrar (Mr.Gonzales), the Top 10 students last
school year will not pay anymore for their application po and he also indicated that I'm one of it so I will not pay for it
po.
Hmmm,...If ever (thru God's will) I will pass the admission test po, i would like to take up civil engineering po sana(my
first choice)...ECE po second choice ko ...Yun po, shinare ko lng po...Pero if God would say na sa PUP ko po i-spend ang college
days ko, i would still take civil engineering po.
Yun po...Im praying po na I would still be included in the top 10 students this last year of high school. And Im hoping
po na kahit po after graduating, pag college na po, ay maextend nio po ang tulong na binibigay niyo po sakin simula pa po
nung nagfirst year po ako sa LabHigh.Im hoping for your help and support po sa nalalapit na college life ko po.
May you have an expectant heart po na pag kami naman po ang nagkaroon ng chance, (and we promise), kami naman po ang magsheshare
ng blessings sa mga upcoming sudents of Labhigh.Just like what all of you did po.
Thank you po.Sa lahat po ng graduates ng Batch nio po, sa lahat po ng sponsors, THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH PO!
Dear Sir Jet!
Thank you for the call. I know that your such a busy person but you found
time to call me and my mom. I was surprised and excited by your call. I'm sorry if the sounds that you hear in the background
was too loud when you called. Yung mga neighbors po kasi namin are fond of having fun, drinking and singing using the videoke.
Actually it happens almost every night. We're just really trying to be more patient 'cause dalawa lang po kami ni mama sa
bahay and we don't want to have any arguments or any trouble with our neighbors. Ganun naman po kasi talaga ang Pinoy, mahilig
sa kasiyahan kaya ok lang din naman po. Nasanay na nga lang po ako na mag-aral kahit maingay.
I also want to share
to you some activities I have been involved to this past school year which I have not yet shared to you when you called or
perhaps in my past e-mails. Maybe because I was too busy during those times. I became a student teacher for two days. It was
really a great experience. I had to teach two subjects, Information Technology and Business Communication Skills. It was tough
getting everyone in the class to be attentive and to listen to what I'm saying or discussing in front but it was worth the
pressure because eventually they became cooperative and more interested in the topic I am discussing. I'm sure that they learned
something from me and I learned something from this experience as well. Teaching is a profession which really needs a lot
of patience.
Hi! A warm greetings to you and hope you're doing fine.
Thank you very, very much for the email that you've sent me. I can't expressed the joy brought to me by your inspiring
message. It's really nice to know that there were wonderful people like you and Batch 65 who take that extra step to
reach out and care for us, the scholars. Also, my sincerest apology for replying late but as the saying goes, "better late
than never".
Regarding the teacher-student exchange wherein you wondered why my English teacher didn't choose me to teach her class,
the answer: Prof. Corazon Tahil, our teacher told us that she would be teaching a difficult lesson for that day so she preferred
to do it herself. In addition, I can no longer accomodate more subjects because for 1 subject alone, I have to spend
3 hours (1 hour per section). So for the 2 subjects, I will spend 6 hours which is enough for a day. Likewise,
SCO Adviser, Prof. Dizon limits the assigned subjects of the student to 2-3 subjects only. If the teacher have chosen
the same student, the former must look for another student to do the task instead.
As for the Batch 65's luncheon treat to awardees and graduating scholars at Max's, we really have a good time
and enjoyed the sumptuous food. We are sitted in a long table for 18 persons. Present were Mam Liway, Mam Lee,
Mam Lina and Sir Ray Contreras (he fondly said that he was the official photographer of the group). Of course Sir Ray was needed in the group pictures so he asked Cer Luigi to took some of the pictures. We have some
conversation regarding school activities and wise advices from them but what I loved most was listening to the trio of
Mam Lee, Mam Liway and Sir Ray reminiscing their past happy and sad experiences.
Once again, my family and I were very grateful to you and to all my sponsors for your financial support and concern.
All the kind words and your good deeds are worthy of emulation. God Bless !!!
I
want to thank you, the Jose Santos Sr. Memorial Foundation and the Batch '65. I also want to share to you what had happened
yesterday.
Yesterday, Mam Lina, Mam Liway and Mam Lee treated us to a lunch out at Max. This only proves how generous
and altruistic you are. We had some conversations regarding our plans about what course we are going to take. Mam Lee suggested
that engineering courses are better than accounting but it does not mean that accounting is a not so good course or anything.
It is also a good course but if I'm choosing between accounting and an engineering course. It would be better if I would take
up engineering. If I am to choose, it would be Electronics and Communication Engineering. It's because I am interested into
computers and other electronic devices. Mam Lee also said that technology nowadays is improving so fast and so she thinks
that ECE will be an in demand course.
During the lunch out we also had some conversations about the past lives of Mam
Lee, Mam Cariaga and Sir Ray Contreras. They talked about how cheap the food was back then. I was moved when Sir Ray talked
about why he spent six years in high school. He said that he had to stop (after his 2nd year in high school) for a while because
his mother said that they can't anymore afford to send him to school. The tuition fee back then was only P65 or P68
as he can remember. He was only able to continue studying when his uncle gave him P100 and said that he must continue. He
was supposed to be a batch '63 alumnus. But because of what happened he became a batch '65 alumnus instead. I felt so fortunate
when he was talking about the experiences he had when he was still in high school. Just thinking about how lucky and fortunate
we (the scholars) are to have people like you, the Jose Santos Sr. Memorial Foundation and all the Batch '65 who are willingly
supporting us in anyway you can.
We also took pictures during the lunch out and everybody was so happy and grateful.
By the way, I also want to thank you all again because all the scholars who had awards this school year were given cash as
a reward. Mam Lina was the one who gave me my reward. She also said that she will again give me a Ford jacket the next time
we meet again. I really appreciate the Ford jacket she gave me when I was in first year. I even wore it when we attended the
Hi-Y Baguio Seminar last November. Anyone who sees it finds it beautiful and they even ask me where I bought it. I tell them
that it was just given to me.
I also want to share how happy I am when I won 3rd place for the essay writing contest
in English this school year. The topic was about how to promote and maintain the excellence of the PUPLHS. I was surprised
because it was just my first time this high school to join the said contest. From the many contestants who joined I really
didn't expect to win. I just want to show my talent in writing. It was really a fortunate event.
I also want to congratulate
your son, Mr. Jeffrey Santos for passing the nursing board exam just this week. I'm sure you are really proud to have a son
like Mr. Jeffrey.
To Batch ' 65 graduates (our sponsors), my warmest greeting to all of you.
Kamusta na po kayong lahat? I hope fine po kayo at wala pong may sakit sa inyo, in Jesus' name.
First of all, i really want to apologize because i haven't reported anything about this past 3rd quarter of sy. 2007-2008.
So I want to take this opportunity to present to you my performance and activities that i've been into.
Woah! Last 3rd quarter, I've placed again in the top 10 students being the 8th placer. i've garnered an average grade
of 91.55.
My grades in different subjects:
English: 96
Filipino: 93
Chemistry: 89
Geometry: 86
Practical arts (bookkeeping): 94
P.E.: 92 (or 94)
Music :93
Health: 93
Economics:90
Business communication skills:89
Information technology: 95
...I've also participated in a team sport called "amazing race" and amazingly(haha), we won the 3rd place. (That happened
when the school's sportsfest took place.
...Now, in the fourth quarter of this school year, i still don't know what my grades are but i've been informed that
my grade in I.t. raised to 97 and my geometry is now 88..^_^
I'm pretty sure that i have no grade lower that 85 because I received a merit card award last recognition day. To top
it all, I received an award being the best in Filipino subject. I really don't expect that award though my fellow classmates
are already giving me some hearsays that they've seen the certificate of awards and i'm one of those awardees.
I'm very thankful to the Lord because He answered my prayer, to have merit card awards in every quarter, from 1st q to
4th q. And not only that, He has also placed me in the top 10 students' ranking, every grading.
Also, He has given me sponsors like you, very supportive to all my endeavors and very supportive mostly on my financial
needs. I'm really, really,profoudly grateful!
I promise to do more, study more, and persevere further on my studies on this upcoming school year. Thank you for all
your support.
God bless you all and May He all protect you and give you long life.
This recent awarding ceremony for the S.Y. 2007-2008, I received 2nd honor for the 3rd year level and best in
English. I was glad and grateful to the Lord when I received those awards and still I am not losing hope in aspiring for a
higher rank like anyone else. Other students also strived hard and was able to improve in their academics. The differences
between our grades are only a matter of points. In fact more students in our batch are receiving merit cards than in the later
school years. I am also glad that our co-scholar Mikarla Arguelles is the 1st honor in the 1st year level. I hope that she'll
maintain it and I am sure she will.
My mom wasn't able to attend the said awarding because she had to attend a hearing
about the case regarding my father's case about his unfortunate accident. The hearing was unluckily almost the same time as
the awarding ceremony. We just asked help from the Public Attorney's Office in filing this case that we don't need to spend
money for this case. We are still hoping that we can get justice.
I do understand the situation so I have no ill feelings.This
coming school year, I'll strive hard to my fullest extent because I know that the senior year is the most important school
year in high school because it is a preparation for college.
I just wish that you'd still be able to support me when
I go to college even like the condition of the scholarship of Ate Kim.
I also want to thank you and your family, the
Santos Foundation and the Batch '65 for your continuous support. Thank you very much and God Bless!
Dear PCCHS Batch 65, Hi! Kumusta po kayong lahat? Hope all of you are doing fine. As for me, with God's
graces, I'm doing great. I was very glad because finally I've received my Gold Medal as 1st Honor for the First Year. Not
only that, I was also a recipients of 8 more awards such as: Best in Math Best in English Best in Filipino Best
in Social Studies Best in Science Best in Practical Arts Model Student Merit Card Awardee Actually, there were
4 set of awards per year lever- Merit Card Award, Best in Subject Areas, Model Students and the Top 3 Students. I went up
the stage with my mother several times. Do you know that everytime my name was called on stage, there was a loud, thunder
of applause from the audience. The crowd was jubilant especially when I got 6 of the Best in Subject Areas. Also, everybody
was telling me "pinakyaw mo nang lahat ang mga awards". Some people were asking me for a blow-out but even if I wanted to,
no budget for that, so my answer to them was a mere timid smile. There were no awardees for Music and PE because members of
the Chorale(Music) and Euphoric dancers (PE) were exempted in attending their classes and even get a high grades for their
efforts. Our energetic, dependable and elegant Ma'am Liwayway Cariaga was also present to accept the Plaque of Appreciation
for your batch. She was very happy for me as well as to my other co-scholars like Mark Galon (4th Year-Valedictorian) and
Cer Luigi dela Cruz (3rd Yr.-2nd Honor). We even had a picture taken together and I just hope all of you can see it. She will
also give us a luncheon treat at Max's Restaurant this coming Monday, March 31. As the school year ends, there were an
election held for a new set of officers for SY 2008-2009 for Math and Science Club (MSC) and Student Central Org'n (SCO).
My good news, I was elected Treasurer for MSC and I won as 2nd Yr. Representative for SCO. The SCO election was far more challenging-
4 partylists joined the election, 2-days campaign period, miting de avance and from the 12 candidates who ran for 2nd Yr.
Rep, I got the most number of votes from my schoolmates. Wise choice, isn't it? To all my dear benefactors, my sincerest
gratitude to all of you. I'm very happy to share and offer my achievements to Class 65. I'm thanking God for having your group
as my very supportive sponsors especially to Mesdames Liwayway Cariaga, Lee Barcelon, Cora Seballos, Becky Telesforo-Albino
and Messrs. Jun Lalog, Jhun Acosta and Jet Santos. Every encouraging messages and advices you've sent me have served as my
inspirations. God Bless and more power to Batch 65. Maraming, maraming salamat po!.
I
Graduated last Tuesday (March 4,2008) in my (Cadet Officer Candidate Course) COC Course. I graduated as the Bravo 1st Platoon
Leader and the next year officer batch 2008-2009.
dear ma'am Suki..
hello po.. thank you
po for the commendations. sobrang salamat po ..
haha .. actually, i
don't have any violent reaction regarding my grade in Health. it just happened that we only had a few Health classes.
and that we only had two quizzes **one of which i failed because it was a surprise quiz and that we are still overwhelmed
by the foundation anniversary that's why we're not in our normal mental state. haha ** anyway, i don't have regrets since
i know i deserve that grade. ^^
about the speech ??
ahh .. it happened during the 4th Annual Ten-pin Bowling of the LHS Alumni. there were several batch of alumni, like batch
84, 63, 71, 73, and others, which held the said event on November, i think. i am one of the student assistants who helped
the event in tallying the scores. supposedly, our teacher, Ma'am Dizon would be speaking in behalf of LHS but she cannot make
it so Sir Jimmy was the one to deliver the speech of Ma'am Dizon. Ma'am Dizon texted me regarding about the speecha and gave
me a part of the speech, which she wanted me to edit and to add other stuffs (actually, it was published in our newsletter,
the Buklod Diwa). then, i also had a funny experience during that day, there was supposed to be a community singing, but there
would be no one to lead. they saw us and asked us if we could sing. we first hesitated but when they put some bribe (a box
of brownies and a box of canned softdrinks), we accepted the offer **haha... i know we're so 'matakaw'.. it is just that we're
starving for the brownies.. haha**. then we sing "Auld Lang Syne". and after that, an alumnus asked, "Kasama ba kayo dun sa
kumanta kanina?" **the LHS Chorale sang for intemission numbers during the opening program** then we told him that we're not.
then he just said, "Ah.." as if figuring out why we sounded not like the Chorale group. hahaha ...
anyway. enough for
that. hmm. regarding my college life?? actually, i'm still in the dillema. i wanted to pursue my study in UP. but i like to
take Accounting since i already had a great ground on it. but anyway, i still have weeks to think of it. i
hope for the best decision. ^^
hmm.. what else am
i going to share ??
oh.. i'm already done
with my Office Training Manual. it is like a version of 'thesis' for LHS seniors. grabe.. all of us had sleepless nights and
a very haggard disposition. haha .. but anyway, we're already done with that enormous graduation requirement. praise the Lord..
about school activities
??
the field trip for
the merit card awardees in Laguna is cancelled. there were conflicts about schedule of the visit to IRRI. also the educational
field trip (organized by Math and Science Club, having me as the club President) is was also disapproved. we proposed the
said project to the College of Business Admistration, Business
Teacher Education (our mother college) but the Dean disapproved the project. we made an appeal cum petition to the Vice-President
for Academic Affairs but it was as well disapproved. i am really saddenned by the decision because it is our last project
for this academic year. but we would have an alternative culminating activity this February 28, to replace the field trip.
i hope it will go well.
Last month, LHS Sportfest 2008 was held for 3-days. For the second time, our class, I-Unity
and IV-Bookeeping formed a group and competed with 5 other rival teams. There were 5 sports events such as basketball, volleyball,
badminton, Amazing Race and the Search for the Mr. and Ms. Sportfest. If in the Cheer-Dance Competition we only won the 3rd Place,
we were luckier this time...we were declared the over-all champion. Sounds great, isn't it? There was also a plan for a
free field trip to Laguna to visit IRRI (International Rice Research Institute) and other places scheduled today as an incentive
only for the 2nd Quarter Merit Card Awardees. Unfortunately, it was cancelled. In our meeting today with the other Merit Card
Awardees, instead of a fieldtrip, the school admin told us that we will be treated with a film showing, a sumptous lunch and
a blue t-shirt will be distributed to us. The date? To be announced later. I will just give you the update on my next letter.
Thank you again my beloved sponsors. God Bless.
hello po...
i'm sorry po hindi
po ako masyado nakakapag'email lately.. i've been very busy po kc.. sori po..
anywei po..i would tell stories about
my January 2008.
first major event that happened to me is about the Statistics Quiz Bee last January 12, 2008 which
i've joined together with other 3 seniors. it was the StatChallenge X of the Univ of the Phil. Variates club. it was
the second time our school joined the competition. even though we didn't win, i am still satisfied with the result of the
competition as we placed 10th out of the 28 schools nationwide who joined the contest. i can say that we have improved
from last year's competition. our trainor is our Math teacher, Prof. Manamtam.
next is the Alfonso T. Yunchengco
Foundation, Inc. Award for National Discipline. the said award is given to a senior who demonstrated important values
as a student. i'm one of the seniors who were screened and interviewed to be the awardee for PUPLHS. fortunately, i made
it to the final screening and with God's blessing, i'm the one chosen to receive the award. along with the award is
a cash prize of P 7,500.00. that's a very big amount in preparation for my collegiate course. i made an essay as an
awardee of the foundation (the essay is attached). im really blessed to be chosen as a National Discpiline Awardee.
and
speaking of my collegiate course, actually, i'm not yet fully-decided regarding where would i study. i'm having second
thoughts regarding where would i study. the opportunity of studying in UP is quite hard to miss because a lot aspires
to be a student of UP (my first choice is Business Adminstration and Accountancy but i was accepted in my second choice
which is Electronics and Communications Eng'g). but on the other hand, the course of my choice, Accountancy, is at its
best in PUP. i can't decide yet where should i pursue my tertiary education. i'm going to think of it more decisively
so i won't have any regrets.
then, we had our third quarter exam and i'm so happy its already through. next,
we would have our field trip on Feb 5 as a treat to the merit card awardees for the second quarter. we would go to Laguna
and one of the spots we would visit is the IRRI (International Rice Resarch Institute). we're the first local school
to visit there. also we would have our CAT Practical Exercises (Quartering) on Feb 13-15. that would be a very adventurous
Valentine's day for the seniors. haha..
our graduation day would be on March 28, 2007. i would send my graduation
picture as soon as i have it po.
hmmm.. my hobbies? actually, i don't have much time for some recreation. im inclined
with reading books right now (some sci-fic books and mystery books). but i just want to sleep if i have some free time
because we're always under stress during weekdays and a tiring CAT military training during saturdays plus the OJT we're
having right now, but i would be finished with my OJT soon.
My brother is currently in his 2nd year in UP as a Computer
Science student. im also praying for that po..
hmm.. what else... i think this email is too long already. haha..
this week would be a very busy week again. we would have our Sportsfest 2008. and it would be a fun-filled week for
us. different sports events would be held and one of those would be the Volleyball (Men's division), in which i would
play for.
hmmm... i think i would end this letter na po.. baka po masyado nang mahaba..haha.. eniwei.. God
bless po.. Thank you po sa lahat. hope you are all doing well there.
with so much love and thanks,
mark
“What Can I Do As A National Discipline Awardee, To Make This Country A Better Place
To Live In?”
Can a mere youth like me make this country a better place to live in? A difficult question, yet a vital challenge for
everyone. Gratifying that the great Jose Rizal has quoted that the youth is the hope of the fatherland. We, the youth, can
perform a big part for the realization of this challenge. As a National Discipline awardee, I can boldly say that we, the
youth, deserve to be called as the hope of the Philippines.
The Philippines as a better place
to live in? Is it about wealth and victory? About power and prestige? No. It is more of the things you can see. The “better
place to live in” is not what you can behold but the sensation you have when you’re in that place -- the feeling
of being home.
As a youth, the simplest act we do in our sincerest ways can testify how we could make a difference. Love, the noblest
thing we have, should be shared to everyone. Helping others in carrying their loads, greeting them with a smile and appreciating
things they have done could be the simple ways on how I can promote love in each of us. Honoring our flag, proudly singing
the National Anthem, and paying courtesy to other national figures could show our love for this country. And having the most
important love everyone should share, the love of God.
For this, we have love. But we don’t have yet the right place where we could nurture the seeds of love. Our country
is rich in terms of natural resources, but we neglect that fact and many of us continue contributing to the different forms
of pollution our country is suffering. As a youth and a citizen of this country, it is part of my duties to protect our resources
and I can start restoring and saving it through simple means. Disposing garbage properly, recycling, and maintaining the cleanliness
of the surrounding are among the most efficient ways on how I could help protect our environment. The outcome of our environment’s
situation rests upon our hands and the action should be from within us.
A love to share and a clean place where we can live couldn’t be called “a better place to live in”
without its people. As a National Discipline awardee, I should serve as a role model to my fellow youth. I would foster humility,
camaraderie, compassion and perseverance for other people to emulate. I would help them enhance their strengths and overcome
their weaknesses. I would encourage others to be a partisan of righteousness, an advocate of education and a servant of the
Lord. Our generation, which is next in line, would be a group of enlightened minds with a common vision -- making the Philippines a better place to live in.
Through these things and with the desire every Filipino has in his heart, the ‘utopia’ Dr. Rizal has dreamed
of a century ago would now become a reality. Let the flame of nationality be ignited and let the youth like me lead this country
to achieve what they’ve thought to be impossible -- a better Philippines
to live in.
Dear batch ' 65, I'm so sorry if I have not e-mailed you for a long time.I hope you were ableto receive my letter
last time. Last January, Mrs.Tahil,
our teacher in english, assigned us to memorize the "Rizal's Tribute to the Enlightened Filipinos" an excerpt from "The Philippines
a Century Hence". after that day, we recited the excerpt and I'm very happy that I got a grade of 98.One of my organizations in the PUPLHS is the Hi-Y club.The Hi-Y club held an event - amazing race. In this
amazing race, we have 12 stations and I am one pf the Station Masters. Everything went well with the event. The Student
Central Organization held a Sports fest.We had the following: Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton. I am one of the players
of our section in the Volleyball girls team. And gladly we were the champion. We were the first runner up for the all
around championship.
From the
bottom of my heart I thank you. I thank you because you are supporting me continuously. Thank you for being my sponsor because
this helps me a lot in my studies,not only financially, but becomes my inspiraton to study harder.
I was very glad that Batch’65
led by Mesdames Lee Barcelon, Liwayway Cariaga, Chit del Rosario and Ms. Lina Santos visited us in our school
last Dec. 14 for the annual Christmas gift-giving for the scholars.It was my
first time to met all of my co-scholars and their parents.On the said gathering,
they distributed to us our gifts and we ate the Jollibee snacks together.The
group also discussed some problems encountered by the scholars and the possible solutions to these problems.
Some ofthe past activities that made me busy for this month were the Teachers’ Day Celebration and the Chorale group
singing.For the Teachers’ Day affair from Dec. 17-19, there was a teacher-student
exchange wherein a teacher will choose a student to be her counterpart and will teach his/ her classes.Most of the student-teacher selected had only one subject to teach.As for me, I have two, Filipino and Araling Panlipunan.The third one,
Practical Arts, I had to declined because it was an afternoon class as Araling Panlipunan. Prof. Odette So (Araling Panlipunan)
and Prof. Lina Felices (Filipino) instructed me on what to teach the students for 2 days.Prof. Rosemariebeth Dizon required us to wore proper teacher attire-blouse and slacks when we were teaching and we
must changed our outfit to school uniform if we’re going to attend our classes.They also transformedthe conference room to be our ownfaculty room.
Day 1 (Dec. 17) – All of the
student-teachers were presented during the flag ceremony.I have not attended
any of my classes because I was teaching Filipino in the morning and Araling Panlipunan in the afternoon.
Day 2 (Dec. 18) – In the morning,
I was teaching Filipino.I was able to attend my afternoon classes.There was a scheduled quizzes for Science and English, two of my morning subjects, so I took up the test
during lunchbreak.I gota perfect
scores for both quizzes.
Day 3 (Dec. 19) – (The day to
pay tribute to all PUPLHS teachers)Since I was the Class President of I-Unity,
I made a short message of appreciation and gave a bouquet of flowers to our adviser, Prof. So, on stage.
For the Chorale group singing, there
were supposedly 12 groups competing (3 sections per year level) and the contest was held last Dec. 20. I was the one who organized
the group that represented our class on the said contest.Compared to the junior
and senior students who were members of LHS Chorale, we’re inexperienced. As expected they won, IV-Bookkeeping got the
1st Place .Although we lost, we’re still proud because othersections failed
to join (2 in the 2nd year and I in the 4th year).
Once again, thank you very much my
dear benefactors for your generosity and concern.I know that the best gift that
I can offer you is to maintain my good academic standing in PUPLHS so your batch can be proud of me.Wishing you all the best in life.
I-Unity and IV-Bookkeeping joined together to form a group named "Silverghetto". I was the leader of 17 students
from I-Unity and another 17 participants from IV- Bookkeeping led by Ate Louise which also included Kuya Mark Galon.
The 4th Year students prepared the choreography and music. They patiently taught us the dance steps
and various stunts such as the pyramid. Don't you know that we have to practice until 8:30 pm for the said contest. Although
we were tired and exhausted, we really had fun during the bonding moments with the seniors. Fortunately, we won 3rd Place. For the Thanksgiving Mass which
was held on the same day, I was assigned for the flowers. Other participants for the said mass were my co-scholars
of Batch '65-Mark Galon who did the First Read- ing and Cer Luigi dela Cruz was assigned for the fruits.
There was also a time wherein our principal chose the "Cleanest Room" for each year level. Luckily, our classroom
the alumni of LHS. Also, please take note of my new contact number c/o of my grandmother's
other school to share with so we were more comfortable. All the delegates from different school were served food from dinner
of November 2 to lunch of November 5. I had a really great time staying there and joining the activities and seminars. The
guest speakers are really informative and fun to listen to. I met new friends because of the activities where we had to share
our opinions and eventually make a resolution which we will defend in the Plenary Session. The resolution if accepted by the
whole body or by all the highschool delegates will be passed to the government and hopefully will be enacted into a law. This
just proves that not only the grown-ups have something to say about the government of our country. During the parliamentary
procedure, we debated on which resolutions proposed by the different commissions will be accepted or not. It was exciting
for me to stand in the middle of the Session Hall and ask something and debate about the resolutions of the other commissions.
I was even nominated to be an Outstanding Delegate but unfortunately I was just rank 2 and only one outstanding delegate for
each commission is needed. Nevertheless it was still overwhelming because it was only my first time and the other delegates
are far more experienced in joining this seminar. Also it was fun to participate and meet new friends from different schools.
This is an experience I will never forget.
Our school had many awards including Biggest Delegation (PUPLHS had the
biggest number of delegates who attended the said seminar), Eastword Manlises won 2nd prize for Essay in Filipino, Jade Nazareno
for 2nd place in Chess for Men's Division, Erika Valerio for 1st prize in Slogan Making in Filipino, a scholar of Batch '65.
We also had many delegates who received the Outstanding Delegate including Kuya Mark Galon, also a scholar of Batch '65.
Before
leaving, we went to the market to buy some little "pasalubong" for our loved ones. I just bought some food products and keychains.
We didn't really have enough time to buy things because of the bad weather condition, it was Signal No. 3 in Baguio during
that time. Luckily and through prayers we were able to go home safe.
Thank you again for your kind support. Without
you I will not experience such an exciting and informative Hi-Y High School National Assembly.
Dear batch '65,
Greetings!
I hope you
are all doing well and in perfect health. It's been a while since my last e-mail. I just want to thank you for all your support
on my participation for the YMCA seminar in Baguio. I thank you all so much, especially for the
financial help you have extended unto me. It really helped me a lot. Your provision is a great blessing. Thank you so much!!!
I
just want to share to you what we were able to learn and do there.The YMCA conference taught each one of us many lessons that
we can apply in our lives. Physically, intellectually and spiritually, we learned
so much. We had so much experiences there. The seminar taught us to be good leaders
of the present and of the future, not only by involvement but also by committment. There are also contests held in the last
day of the seminar where we showed our abilities and skills in different fields.
I was so surprised when our coordinator
said that I will participate in the slogan-making contest (Filipino). I didn't really expect it. I was so surprised! But thank
God, despite of my unpreparedness (I was told only on the day we are leaving for Baguio),
I've done very well, bagging the first place in the slogan- making contest.
Here's how it goes:
Kabataan ay
pag-asa, Ugat ng pagkakaisa, Kung tayo'y makikisama, Tagumpay, abot-kamay na!
I was awarded a trophy, a gold
medal, and a certificate for making it in the first place. Glory be unto Jesus!
We really had good times, learning
formal or parliamentary procedures while we were having fun and enjoying the ambience of Baguio.
Again, I thank all of you for your non-stop support for
your scholars like me, which serves as a big part of inspiration to do our best at all time. May the Lord give to you back
a thousand fold for all the good seeds you sow. Thanks and God bless!!!
hello
po..
hope you're doing fine .. i have read your letter about your house and i'm saddened by the incident. but
i'm still thankful that no one is hurt. i hope you can be okay again as before.
anyway, i just came down from
Baguio
yesterday. that five-day vacation was really a blast!! let me tell the whole story.
Nov 1. Assembly and Departure
and Arrival
we went to the Lab High to gather ourselves and prepare for the trip. we went there at 8:00 am and
left the school for Baguio by around 10:30 am. the trip
was full of fun.
we arrived at Baguio by around 6:00
pm and went to our respective hall <our 'house' for the conference>. we occupied the whole building and that
was really great.
then, we left to go the SM City Baguio
to have dinner (we just took home our dinner coz only a few of us were allowed to go there, i'm with some other seniors
and a couple of teachers) imagine, we walked from the teacher's camp to the mall. the night was so cold and the walk was
fairly long, yet i enjoyed it!!
still, overwhelmed by the first night, we slept so late in the evening.
Nov.2
First day
what a very fine first morning at baguio.
we woke up and prepared ourselves for our 'lakwatsa'. we went to the BellChurch (a Chinese temple), then at the Strawberry Farm (but there were no fruits
yet), the Mansion, the MinesViewPark and some other places.
we,then went back the camp and
prepared for the orientation program. we're then grouped into commissions whom we will be with during activities.
i'm in the Commission no. 4, together with Arielle Valerio (another Batch '65 Scholar) and a freshmen. i was elected
as the RAPPORTEUR (spokesperson, secretary and proponent of the commission).
then, we have slept late at night
again.
Nov. 3 Second Day
this day is boring (i must admit), yet i've learned a lot.
seminars were
held by this day and we made our resolutions to be defended during the plenary session tommorow.
Nov. 4 Last day
of the Conference
the final day of the conference.
at the morning, contests were held. me and my fellow delegates
competed at our respective contests. i've competed for the General Information. (but sadly, i didn't make it to be
on the top three.)
at the afternoon, the plenary session was held. i was so nervous because i am the one who's
going to defend our resolution in front of some 500 people. but still was so grateful that i've defended our resolution
well and was adopted by the whole body *cheers*. our resolution was one of the 6 out of 15 resolutions adopted by
the body.
then, the conference concluded with smiles on our faces as we have garnered some awards.
our
school got the BIGGEST DELEGATION and OUTSTANDING DELEGATION.
then, i was selected as an OUTSTANDING DELEGATE of the
conference. i was one of the lucky 14 (out of some 500 delegates) who have received the award. **cheers again**i'm
so thankful**
Nov. 5 What a chilling morning.
brrr. so cold. it was raining at our last day of stay at Baguio.
i don't have an umbrella since i haven't thought that
it would rain in Baguio. wheew. but still i survive the
raging typhoon.
we haven't got a chance of long 'lakwatsa' for it is raining. we just went to the market to buy
our 'pasalubong'.
and then we travelled back here in manila.
** that experience is very memorable
and very rewarding. so much. i've learned a lot from it.
** i actually miss baguio
right now. coz those 5 days was very very very unforgettable. i've learned to adopt to the daily routine we've had (like
sleeping late, waking up early, eating breakfast, dinner, and lunch together, taking a bath with an ice cold water, having
smoke coming out of my mouth when i'm talking *that was really fun* .. etc) i really really miss everything there!
but still nothing compares to manila.haha
** thank you for the chance you've given me to be at that conference.
i really really thank you, from the bottom of my heart. will you please kindly extend my gratitude to Sir Tony Aventino,
he gave me a call when he deposited the money. my sincerest gratitude!!
** anyways, just a segue of the topic..
these are my grades for this grading
English-87 Filipino-92 Science (Physics)-92 Math (Trigonometry)-94
World History -94 Practical Arts (Advanced Bookkeeping)- 100 Office Procedure / Office Practice - 98 CAT
Once again many, many thanks and God bless!!!
Take care..
We've just finshed our examination this day and I'm really glad that I've already
paid for the seminar. Thank you for your kind support. Almost all of the Batch '65 scholars were given the opportunity to
join the said seminar because of your help (The Jose Santos Sr. Memorial Foundation and the Batch '65). Actually the fee for
the seminar is only P4500 so the remaining P500 was given to us as a pocket money which greatly reduced our problem with regards
The seminar will be held in Baguio from November 1 to November 5. I'll share to you after the seminar
all about the activities done.
Ma'am, I just want to share with you the achievements that God has helped
me throughout. I've been able to get high grades and be a MERIT CARD AWARDEE that qualifies me to be a member of the KATAGA(Kapatiran
English:96
Filipino: 93
Chemistry:88
Business communication skills: 88
Economics: 90
Practical arts(bookkeeping): 89
Information technology: 90
Geometry: 91
PEHM: 94
General average: 90.75
I've been able to make it to the ranking, being the top 4 over all third
year students. I'm really striving harder this 2nd quarter so that I can maintain my grades and if not, make it higher.
I'm really thankful that there's a lot of people to serve as my inspiraton
hello po.
sorry po if it has been a long time since i have sent my last e-mail.
i have been very busy po kasi. sorry po talaga. kaya i have lots of stories to tell.
i have been very busy with my school orgs. because presently, im handling positions in some of the organizations like:
President - Math and Science Club
Vice-President (external) - Junior KATAGA (Kapatiran ng Talino at Galing)
Managing Editor - Junior Memorabilia
Treasurer - Student Central Organization
Treasurer - InterAct Club (International Action Club, High School Rotary)
PRO - Book Society
PRO - Info. Tech and Bus. Distributive Arts Club
im also the head of General Information group of LHS Quizzards and Junior Staffer of the newsletter.
aside for my orgs, another reason for being busy are the contests which i have joined. like the University Phil History
and Humanities Quiz Bee in which we placed 6th and the Intercollegiate Accounting Olympiad. luckily, we were the Champion
for the Olympiad (our winning gave the LHS its 6th year of defending the title)
then, this week, i'm gonna compete for the Knights of Rizal in Intramuros, Manila. im going to tell you about it po after
the contest. and sometime in November, in the University of Sto. Tomas Math Quiz Bee.
also, i have been nominated for the 2007 Outstanding Student for the PUP 103rd Foundation. but unfortunately, im not
considered together with my other co-nominees.
then, we're going again for the YMCA Conference in Baguio City in November 1.
this year is a very busy year, especially for us senior students. so i hope you can understand why im not sending e-mails
as frequent as before. i really feel sorry for that.
anyways, even if im busy, i'm still striving for my studies. my general average for the quarter is 91 point something.
(i forgot the other digits) and one of the Merit Card awardees.
that's it. dito na lang po muna. sa susunod po ule. ill try my best to keep in touch even im busy. till the next e-mail
po.
Thank you for choosing me as one of your scholars. I'm Mikarla Maiye T. Arguelles, 12 years old and the eldest of
2 siblings. I graduated Valedictorian at TomasEarnshawElemSchool in Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila.
Some of the contests were I won during the SY 2006-2007 were:
SCIENCE QUIZ BEE - 2nd Place Division
Level
- 2nd Place NCR Level representing Manila
At present, I'm the Class President of I-Unity. I am also the First Year Representative of Math and Science Club.
Recently, I was one of the 7 LHS students who competed with the college students in "Dagliang Pagsulat ng Sanaysay"
in connection with the Buwan ng Wika Celebration. I'm also glad to inform you that I am a Merit Card Awardee for the
First Quarter for this SY 2007-2008. Luckily, I Rank # 1 over-all of all the First Year students with a Gen. Average
of 92.71. This automatically qualifies me as a member of Junior KATAGA (Kapatiran ng Talino at Galing), the honor society
of LHS. It's a new school organization headed by our guidance counselor, Ms. Flordeliza Alvendia.
Hanggang sa muli po. Ako po at ang aking pamilya ay muling nagpapasalamat sa inyong lahat. GOD BLESS...
To our Dear Benefactors:
Good Day!
First of all, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for four years of giving me financial aid. From just a quiet, not so active freshman,
I am now an active lady {yes, lady, because I am now matured physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually}.
Honestly, I was really very ashamed to the Scholarship
Coordinators like Ma’am Lee, Ma’am Liway, Ma’am Santos and Sir dela Cruz every time they make their visitation
to us because some of my grades was below 85 especially during my lower years. But one time, during my Second year,
there was an incident that my grade in Keyboarding was wrongly encoded {in my card, it was encoded as 78 but the actual grade
was 86}. I cried because of that and after that incident, I bear in mind that I should excel in my studies.
Allow me to state my academic and extra curricular
progress when I was a junior and during my last year in High School. I became a Merit Card Awardee during 2nd
quarter when I was in 3rd year. Merit Cards were awarded to students whose grade in each subject is 85 and
above and whose average in each quarter is 88 and above. I became a Senior Staffer of Buklod Diwa, our official newsletter.
During my 4th year, I again received a Merit Card last 2nd quarter. I became Top 8. As a reward,
we have free educational trip at Pampanga. I became the Features Editor of Buklod Diwa, Chairman of the Student Central
Organization - Commission on Elections and Auditor of Math and Science Club. I was also an active member of PUPLHS Chorale
for two years and many organizations inside the school. As a matter of fact, I wrote a flash news about the Christmas Visitation
of Balik Aral Sponsors last December 2006 and was included in one of the issues of Buklod Diwa. My put away my
shyness and because of that, I was able to face my fellow students and other persons. I was chosen as Emcee
in some school programs. But my greatest affiliation is that I am a Church Choir because all of this was impossible
because of God.
I had my On-the-Job Training at the PUP Open University
Registrars Office for almost three months. I got a Training Manual grade of 100 and also a card grade of 100.
I’m very thankful to all of our sponsors because on that training manual, I spend a big amount than the usual projects,
and the money that I used was my allowance for that month. It was really a big help because honestly while I am doing
my manual, the money that my parents gave to me was insufficient. Frankly speaking, I set aside my allowance for March
just to join the Seniors Retreat at Word of Life, Calauan, Laguna. That was a beautiful place and you can feel like
you are very close to God.
I also would like to extend my gratitude to Sir
Jet Santos and Ma’am Lina Santos for treating us at Max’s Restaurant before our graduation. I will surely
treasure that. I am reading the book you have given to us and it is a good book. I enjoyed reading that especially
during spare times. I am very happy that Ma’am Santos was with us during our graduation.
By now, I have enrolled at PUPCollege of Accountancy. I am still waiting if I will be interviewed
at UP Los Bańos , BS Nutrition. Hope I would enrolled there.
My family especially my parents, would also like
to extend their appreciation to Batch ’65 Balik Aral Scholarship Program. Hanggang dito na lang po. Maraming
Maraming Salamat po sa lahat ng suporta, tulong at pagtitiwala.
After four years of patience and hardwork, at long last, we will be graduating this April, 2007. Our hearts are overflowing
with joy and gratitude. We would like to share this happiness to everybody, to our parents, and to our beloved sponsors.
When I think of graduation ceremony, I cannot help but think of the past. And my thoughts brought me back once again
to that time, four years ago. I cannot forget the first day of school as a high school student here in PUPLHS. I am very nervous
that day, for it was a totally new road to face. I will not also forget the day when me and my other co-scholars were in the
principal’s office to have an interview for the Batch ’65 scholarship program, for it was the day when you, our
sponsors, became part of our lives.
Time goes by very fast… And now, high school days are over and we have to say “goodbye” to our alma
mater. As we give our final farewell, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude not only to our “Sintang Paaralan”
but also to you who played a big role in our high school life. Your experiences and achievements in life became our inspiration
to study hard and to aim high for our future. Your undying support gave us an opportunity to finish our high school years.
And for that, we would like to say thank you very much for the past four years that you have given us to became one of your
scholars. Words are not enough to express our gratefulness to your batch. And as we enter college life, your kindness will
never fade in our hearts.
Again, maraming salamat po sa inyo…. Hinding-hindi po naming kayo makakalimutan….
Natapos na po ang
school year 06-07, ang 2nd year po namin sa PUPLHS.
I just want to report about my overall performance, my achievements
and my class standing. I was even able to make it to the recognition program and my parents were invited to attend the awarding
ceremony last April 12, 2007.
I've got good grades last 1st and 2nd quarter but I was much happier on my performance
results last 3rd and 4th quarter. I was able to attain a MERIT CARD AWARD last 3rd quarter because my grades are all above
85 and I got an average of above 88% ( specifically 88.95). This 4th grading, the last grading period, I was invited at the
recognition for a merit card award again,because I was able to perform well and kept my grades constant.
.....
I will just strive more and persevere on my studies.
Batch ' 65, you' ve inspired me a lot in doing such things
and in studying well, aside from my family and the Lord. With the support you give, I am able to sustain my schooling needs
and my parents are able to send me to school. Thank you very very much.
There are two more school years to come
and I will do my very best again with the Lord's guidance and your prayers. And I pray that this time, I can prove my abilities
even better.
The past. I give it to the Lord. He knows how the desires and intents of the hearts. I bless everyone.
I put my focus in the future. Again, thank you and God Bless you.
( Me and My family are praying for all of you
every now and then.)
A farewell gift from the 1st batch of the Scholarship’s Graduating Students
Studying in PUPLHS was the biggest blessing we had upon Elementary graduation.Unknowingly, it was just the start.In just a sheet of Scholarship
Application Form, the Blessing continues…
From the interview, we met these people who were graduates of our Alma Matter and who are
now successful in their chosen careers. Seeing you inspired us to make a lot of effort in studying…
During our first year in LHS, we were shocked to see brighter students than us. Nevertheless, we really tried to compete with them to maintain our scholarship.
During our second year in LHS, majority of us participated in different organizations,
and yes, we admit that we became a bit irresponsible in our studies.Honestly,
we were very ashamed to face the Scholarship committee because most of our grades got low.
During our third year, we have chosen our field of specialization such as Bookkeeping,
Office Technology and Entrepreneurship.Most of us became academically competitive,
but all of us doubled our efforts in studying.
And our last year in LHS, some of us became Merit Card Awardees, all of us participated
in many school organizations and all of us improved a lot.
In our Scholarship Batch, there were student leaders, performers, a member of the varsity
team, a C.A.T. Officer and very good artists.
When our classmates heard of Batch ’65 Scholars, they always said, “SWERTE
N’YO!”That’s true!We
are fortunate to be sponsored by you.
We are very SORRY…
Because
we didn’t make it to the Top 10.But actually, some of us were in the Top
during our previous Grading Periods and were candidates for Honor.
Because
we haven’t met some of your expectations.
Because some of us got
a grade lower than 80.
THANK YOU…
For being our inspiration throughout our entire High School Life.
For supporting our financial needs.
For being like our parents who are always concerned for our studies.
For the Christmas gifts you annually gave us.
And for all the support you always showed to us.
Years from now, hopefully, we will become as successful as you are.And if that happens, we promise to support bright students who were financially unstable.
We hope to see you again someday.We will
be forever proud that we were SCHOLARS of PCCLHS BATCH ’65.
We want to share our Graduation Song with you because you played a big role in our life.
SOMETIMES
Sometimes, not
often enough We reflect upon the good things And those thoughts always center around those we love
And we think
of all the people who’ve been so much to us And for so many years that made us, so very happy
AND WE THINK
OF ALL THOSE TIMES THAT WE FORGOTTEN TO SAY
THANK YOU, AND JUST HOW MUCH WE LOVE YOU!
Hi po Sir! I hope ok po kayo dyan and healthy po kayo...
It was our graduation day last April 13. Maam Lina and her daughter was there. We, the scholars, took pictures with her..
Now that I graduated, I am soon taking a higher level of education.. This is one of my achievements and successes in
my life, and I will not make it without you helping and supporting me. Para po sa inyo ang lahat ng natanggap at naachieve
ko..
Thank you so much for lending your hand for all of us scholars and for helping us to reach our dreams in life.
I know thank you is not enough sa lahat ng tulong na naibigay ninyo sa akin. I am proud na ako po ang unang graduate ng Jose
S. Santos, Sr. Memorial Scholarship.
Gusto ko po magsorry dahil hindi po ganun kataas ang grades ko, lalo na po nung 1st-3rd year. Nahihiya po ako sa
inyo. Isa lang din po kasi ang nakuha kong merit card sa buong highschool life ko. Ok naman po yung grades ko, lagi
nga lang po may below 84 subject grade kaya wala po nakukuha. I'm very sorry po.. But I am glad to tell you na nasama
po ako sa mga students running for honors pero hindi na po ako nasama sa Top 14. Masaya rin po ako dahil qualified
po kasi dahil graduating po ako saka nagrerent lang po kasi ako ng computer sa internet shop. Nahihiya na po talaga
ako.
You are one of my inspirations in my life. I always give my best sa lahat ng ginagawa ko. You are one of
the greatest blessings in my life. I always pray na ok po kayo dyan at lagi po kayo ibless ni God.
I will take Communication Arts sa UP Los Bańos. Nasa waiting list pa lang po ako kasi hindi ko po pinili yung UP
Los Bańos as my choice campus sa application form ko. Hindi po ako pumasa sa UP Diliman and UP Manila, but God is gracious,
umabot po ang score ko sa UPLB. Sa May pa po malalaman kung kasama po ako sa interview. And I hope po makasama ako.. Kapag
hindi po ako nakapasok sa UP, PUP po ako mag-aaral and I will take Broadcast Communication.
Now I'm in college I promise to strive more and study harder. Hindi ko po makakalimutan lahat ng tulong po ninyo
sa akin at pati na rin sa family ko..
Sana po maituloy po ninyo suportahan ako sa college.. Ingat po kayo palagi dyan and I hope makita ko po ulit kayo.
God bless you.
To our dear sponsors ...
First of all, I would like to thank all of you for supporting us, your scholars with our studies.
We will have our graduation a few days ahead ...
It is such a very special and happy and memorable day for me and all of the senior students.
For the past four years of studying and doing homeworks and non-stop projects, atlast, I have surpassed all of it.
And now, I have to faced a new challenge in my life, to be with new faces and a new environment I will surely experienced
with my college life.
With all of this, I want to say a big big "THANK YOU" to the BATCH '65 SPONSORS
for the support and unconditional "LOVE" they have given to us. For the patience, if sometimes, we
failed their expectations. But we really try our best for them to be happy and proud to us. And I know
that they are!
And now that we will be leaving our highschool life ....
All my achievements and the happy feeling that I am encountering now ...
I would like to share it with you .. all of you!
I promise that I will never forget the memories you've shared with me.
And that someday, I will be a successful person because of the things I learned because of you.
And that, someday ... if ever, I will also be a sponsor for students like me wha are willing to study
hard and reach their dreams for their family and for theirselves...!
I am graduating soon! And I'm glad to tell
you that I'm included in the top 14 students of the entire graduating class, however, the final standing has yet to be known.
The scholarship grant you have extended to me has
been very insturmental in my schooling. It has lightened the financial burden of my family kaya nabawasan ang aming
mga problema.
By next school year, I will be treading into the
next and higher level of education. I'm so excited to rush into it for it is my childhood dream that one day I'll graduate
from college. I'll take up broadcast journalism, and God willing, I'll pursue my studies to take up law.
Your generous group
“PUPLHS Batch ‘65” has inspired me to study harder so I can attain success in my chosen field of profession.You have been a model to me and I believe I can make it – I believe I will succeed!I’m looking forward to that day when like you, I could also provide scholarship
to those less fortunate but deserving students.
To all
of you, maraming-maraming salamat po.Nawa’y patuloy po kayong pagpalain
ng Panginoong Diyos.
Greetings!
Days to go before our graduation day and I just want to thank you for supporting us, scholars, on our four years in high school.
I feel excited
when I think of myself walking in the stage and receiving my diploma that is worth of all the memories and hardships in LHS.
But despite of this is the feeling of sadness because we were about to leave our second home that taught us not only about
the academic matters but also on how to be disciplined persons and how to socialize with people (classmates, schoolmates,
friends, and teachers).
Before we are recognized
as alumni of LHS, I just want to you to know that you have been part of this special part of our lives through your advices
and teachings on how to deal with our studies, as well as of personal dilemmas. I offer you the achievement of graduating
in high school. I believe that we are ready to take the step to the higher level in life that we must take and that is college.
Please do not lose hope because of your present
suffering. Our lord Jesus has not abandoned you. He loves you much more than you know, and he watches you over your every
minute of you life/ You must trust in our lord’s goodness no matter than how difficult it is to do it now because
of your present condition.
When you look at the Holy Cross, you must
remind yourself that our Lord Jesus suffered of yourself that our Lord Jesus suffered for you as well. Call on our Lord Jesus
to help you in your suffering. When you feel helpless, call on our Lord Jesus for hope. When you feel fear, call on our Lord
Jesus for courage. When you are anxious and restless, call on our Lord Jesus for peace.
You must trust our Lord Jesus completely even
in your suffering. Allow your heart to rest in his loving embrace. Give yourself to our Lord Jesus as a little girl who sleeps
in the arms of her father. Do not be afraid, our Lord Jesus loves you, even more so because of your suffering!
Madam, please recite the show prayer to our
Blessed Mother. She desires only one thing from all of us and that is, that we may all be of us and that we may all be led
to her Son, our lord Jesus. Ask our Mother to help you in your suffering, and every time you feel doubt and fear, ask our
Blessed Mother to lead you to her son. I believe in my heart that our Blessed Mother watches over you always, more so on the
onset of your illness.
And remember, I have been praying for you
non-stop.
By appearing at the Grotto of Lourdes, you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary, where you dispense your favors.
Many of those who suffer have been cured of their infirmities, both physical and spiritual. I come, therefore, with complete
confidence to implore your intercession. O loving Mother, if it is God's will, grant my requests. In gratitude for your favor,
I will endeavor to imitate your virtues, that I may one-day share in your glory. Amen
Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!!
I just want to thank you for your support, not only to me but to all of us!
All of you had played a big part on our lives!
We really had a great time spending some time with all of you during your last reunion!
We, the scholars, are very proud of you as our sponsors ..
you've been our inspirations for working ans studying hard for a better future ahead of us! Our success as a graduating
students are because of your help and kindness to us!
Today, as our vacation started ..
I am busy with my OJT!
I am working at Shakey's Gilmore.. I have learned so many things that really help changed my thoughts and ideas in life!
It's been great working and serving other people...
When I graduate, I would rather choose a business administration course or any course related to business .. I just want
to continue what I have learned from my major subject ENTREPRENEURSHIP! I just want to be a certified entrepreneur! I want
to put up my own business someday!
I just want to share all of this to you ..
And again thank you for your support and kindness to us!
And maybe, someday, if we become one of the successful persons in this world ...
Just always remember that it is because of you ...
And a part of our lives well cherish the times that you've been a inspiration and a role model to us!
First of all, I would like to say “thank you” for all the support that you have given us during our entire
high school life. Since first year, you were there to help us meet our financial needs. You were also there to give us your
moral support for us to finish our studies and to have a better life in the future. We are so blessed that God gave us an
opportunity to be a part of your scholarship. You have been an important piece of our lives as we go on with our high school
life.
Since it is our last term here in PUPLHS, I would like to share two of my unforgettable experiences that makes our
high school life memorable.
Last May 5, 2006, I joined the COCC summer training. I thought it was exciting because of some news that I heard from
the past officers of the CAT-1. Actually, CAT-1 was stopped last year because it is already not included in the high school
curriculum. But the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dante Guedarria, have a request to revive the CAT-1. And so,
the CAT-1 was back. Our training last until July and last August 31, 2006, our recognition day was held at Bulwagang Balagtas.
I was assigned as the Alpha 2nd Platoon Leader. As of now, we are having our CAT-1 every Saturday.
One of our remarkable experience as Seniors was the Field Demo held last November 14, 2006 at PUP Gym, during the 52nd
Foundation Day of PUPLHS. The Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and of course, the Seniors, participated in the said event. Basic
skills of some common sports was the theme. Actually, it was a contest for every year level. The 3rd place was
bagged by the Sophomores; the 2nd place was bagged by the Juniors, and the 1st place, of course, was
bagged by the Seniors. I want to cherish this event because it gave us closeness to our batchmates. We really have the cooperation
of each Seniors and we really feel the eagerness of each of us to win in this event, just to have a moment that will really
stamped on our minds.
As of now, we are having our OJT and we are required to finish150 hours
for it. The College of Administration and Business Teaching Education (COABTE) was my training station. We really enjoy working
because we use our typing and other computer skills there. Sometimes, we use to read a steno strokes of a college student.
Our bosses told us that we are better stenographers compared to a college student there. Maybe because since 2nd
year, we already have knowledge in steno, and now, we are a Senior steno in LHS. It was exciting and fun, but somehow, it
was laborious. Hopefully, I will get through with my OJT by the second week of January.
So again, thank you very much. We really appreciate all your efforts just to help us in our studies. Merry Christmas
and may you have a prosperous new year. God Bless…….
A pleasant greeting of Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year!
Thank you for your continuous support to us, especially
we, the senior students. I'm very thankful that you became our benefactor because aside from giving us our monthly allowances,
I mostly appreciated the thoughts, advices, and moral support you have given us not just in studying, but also in dealing
with life in our high school years.
There were so many activities held in the LHS
in the closing weeks of classes for the preparation of Christmas season. We celebrated the Teacher's Day for a tribute for
the teachers. And because this is the last year of the seniors in the LHS, we were able to have it more special for our adviser.
Our president in IV-Office Technology decided to have a presentation for Mrs. Antonio by singing her the theme song of Sineskwela
(because she was a Science teacher). And as we sing, we think that she appreciated what we have done. After the Teacher˘s
Day celebration, we have our last Christmas Party @ LHS. Of course, there is always the exchange of gifts and games, too.
We have, indeed, a great time!
We were sorry because the last meeting you called
us up scholars, we don't have any presentation or card to give you. It˘s just that we were not able to have a plan because
it was told us before the day it was held. We were very sorry.
I hope that you will continue your good deeds
for the upcoming bright students of LHS in supporting them in their studies. And if someday, if we became successful as you
do, we will follow your path and help other children in contributing in building up the country in progress.
How are you
Ma'am? We are still praying for your fast recovery. We pray more blessings for you and your family.
To Batch 65:
I also want
to greet all batch 65 sponsors Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. I reallly appreciate your Christmas gift. God will
bless back your generosity. Thank you for your kindness. Expect that I will do more in my studies to show my gratitude to
you. I will do my best to be in the student's standing again and in a higher rank.
I pray for
more blessings and long life to all of you so that you may continually be used to help and bless other people especially
the less fortunate. As the scriptures says,"Do not be weary in doing good;for in due season we shall reap,if we faint
not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."(Gal.6:9-10)
Again, Christmas
greetings and May the Good Lord bless you.
Dear Sir Jet, Happy Holidays!!!
How are you? I hope you’re doing really well. It’s been a long time since
my last e-mail. I’m really sorry for that. So far, everything is going fine for me this school year but the great difference
between the last school year is the schedule. It is really more hectic these days and most of the time I come home late. That’s
why I haven’t sent you an e-mail. Anyways, thank you for the continuous support you are giving me. You really help me
a lot. I’m really thankful that you are still out there to support me.
The last time we e-mailed with each other, you asked me what course will I take when I go to college.
I have three choices: Engineering, Accounting and Law. I also consider taking up Nursing or any course that will be in demand
in the future and have opportunity to go abroad.
I’m still the top one of my batch so far and I aim to still be at this position at the end of the
school year and to achieve some academic awards. At first, I was disappointed about my Music subject. I should have gotten
a higher grade. My teacher said that I got a not so high grade because I wasn’t able to pass the project in the said
subject. Actually, I was able to pass such project at the right time and he was the one who checked my project. He even said
to put it in his table. Somehow it was misplaced. When I talked to him and said that he was able to check the project right
in front of me. He said that he can’t remember a thing. That’s the reason why I got an unusual grade in Music.
But now, I’m just thinking positively saying to myself that there’s always a next time. I’ll just do my
best to prove that I deserve to get a higher grade. I also believe that there is always a room for improvement.
I consider you, as well as the batch ‘65 as my inspiration in studying. I hope I’ll
be able to help others the way you are helping me. It’s really great to know that there is still someone out there like
you who understands the needs of others and try to do the best to help them.
I’m really happy that it’s Christmas vacation because I’ll be able to rest and e-mail
you. I’ll make sure that I’ll always find time to send you an e-mail. It really feels good to have enough rest
at home with my Mom. Christmas is not the same anymore because it is not complete without my Dad who died on December 11,
2001. Now it’s just the two of us. My Mother is having a hard time earning money but still she’s doing her best
to help sustain our everyday needs.
I also want to thank you for the Christmas bonus you have given to me. Thank you very much!!!
Hi and a pleasant
evening po. Thank you po for the> continuous support. It is a great blessing for us, specially this coming Christmas. Thank
you rin po sa BONUS,nagamit ko naman po ang pera sa pansarili pero kailangan din po ng family kasi sinugod po sa hospital
ang mama ko po. Pregnant po at inatake po ng high blood.
Thank you
po ulit and May the Lord Bless you All!!!
hello po...
sorry if my
e-mail is late because we're kinda busy (as always)
anyway, i'm
just gonna tell you some stories from baguio
our school
sent 32 delegates to the conference...
on Nov 29,
we left the school and we arrived in baguio at 6:00 pm ... it was not yet cold that we could afford to eat ice cream
by that time ...(we just want to try that). we had our dinner at SM baguio and we stroll for
a while in the BurnhamPark
on Nov 30,
we had an environmental scanning. we went to several places like Botanical Garden, the Mansion, MinesViewPark,
and others. it was really fun. at noon, the conference started and we were divided into commissions. i was on commission 13
together with a senior student. the commissions would work as a group to pass a resolution.
on Dec 1 morning
there was a formal presentation of the delegations from all over the country. then there was seminars in which speakers discussed
various issues in the society like the bad media. then our commission met so we could discuss what resolution could we pass
regarding the seminars.
on Dec 2, there
were contests proper and several activities. then in the afternoon, the highlight of the conference took place-- the parliamentary
procedure. the venue was transformed into a congress and we as congressmen. the resolutions of the 15 commissions was presented
and to be deliberated by the whole body. our resolution was passed without any objections.
on Dec 3 morning,
we again roam around Baguio and went on rowing in the Burnham
park and we bought some pasalubong. then we had our way back here in manila peacefully.
that's what
happened in baguio. we also had devotions every morning and
every night before sleeping. and Teacher's Camp is really spooky...
by the way,
i've received another merit card from the school. and a cash prize of 500.00 for being the champion in the Info Tech quiz
bee. and as bonus, we would have an all expense-paid trip this Dec 15 or 22.
also, the thing
that made me busy was our play. we presented Romeo and Juliet last Dec 11. it was a success!
Napakalaking
tulong po ang ibinibigay nyo sa aking pag-aaral, at sobra ko po itong naappreciate pati na rin ang minsanang pagbisita nyo
Kaya naman po, sisikapin ko pong mas mapataas pa ang mga marka ko ngayong huling taon.
Sana po wag po kayong magsawang tumulong at sumuporta sa mga estudyanteng tulad nmin. Maraming salamat po uli and God Bless
I have just received your letter today,
while opening my E-mail. Thank you for your appreciation. There are no words to express my gratitude to you and to all the
Class ’65 members. Please expect the best in me especially in this school year.
Sir I just want to share with you a quote
that I have read that “talent creates its own opportunities”. Thank God that He has given me talents which leads
on having big opportunities (of being one of your scholars) that helps not only me, but even my family, that by supporting
my financial requirements as a student, I am no longer a big burden to them. Now is the time that I should acknowledge God-provided
people like you for being generous to me even though you don’t know me at first. Still, you trusted me with all your
heart and in return, I would strive harder to reach your expectations, achieve and accomplish my dreams and ambitions, and
to become a better student and daughter.
Again, thank you and may the Good Lord
bless you more.
First of all, I am very thankful for the financial support that you provide us, scholars.
I am very lucky for being one of your scholars. I promise to do the best I can to improve my grades. As a scholar,
marami pong mga pagsubok sa aking pag-aaral. Alam po namin na napakalaki ng responsibilities as your scholars, kaya
ginagawa po namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya para matumbasan namin ang mga kabutihan nyo sa amin.
Marami na po kaming
mga pagsubok na nalagpasan at pilit na lalagpasan sa amingpag-aaral dito sa PUPLabHigh. Tulad ng mga paaralang Philippine
Science at Quezon City Science, napakahigpit ng kompetisyon ng mga mag-aaral. Maraming mga nakapasang paghihirap
sa aming mga balikat. Pilit po kaming umiiwas sa mga bad influence na maaaring makaapekto sa mga grades namin.
Alam po namin, simula pa lang noong 1st Year kami, na bilang scholar dapat po naming mapanatili ang mga grades namin at kung
maaari, iimprove pa. Masasabi ko pong napakahirap ang buhay sa loob ng PUPLabHigh, nakakapressure ang mga tests, quizzes,
recitations at iba pang mga activities na involve sa aming pag-aaral. Nagpapasalamat po ako kay God dahil dito po ako
nakapag-aral. Dito ko po nalaman na hindi lang po sa classroom matututunan lahat ng kaalaman na dapat naming malaman
sa pagharap sa mga pagsubok ng buhay. As one of your scholars, gagawin ko po ang lahat para masuklian ang kabutihan
ninyo sa pamamagitan ng pag-aaral ng mabuti. Alam ko pong mahirap mangako because promises are meant to be broken kaya
po hindi ko po ipapangako sa inyo na makuha ako ng mataas na grades pero gagawin ko po ang lahat para mag-improve.
Sa
pag-aaral ko po sa PUPLabHigh, marami po akong nakaharap na mga pagsubok...................... ang mga teacher, masasabi ko
pong magagaling silang lahat. Natutunan ko po sa kanila ang mga responsibilidad namin bilang isang student ng LabHigh.
Tulad po ng kanilang mga laging pinapaalala sa amin, hinahanda nila kami para sa college life kaya ganon po katindi ang
pressure sa loob ng room. Hindi naman po puro pressure ang pag-aaral sa LabHigh, binibigyan din naman po kami ng recreation
at ito po ang aking pinagpapasalamat sa lahat.
Marami pong salamat sa lahat! Ngayon pong magtatapos na ako sa
High School, inaalay ko po sa Diyos at sa inyong mga nakatulong sa akin ang lahat ng aking mga paghihirap at tagumpay na nakamit
sa yugto ng buhay kong ito. Taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga suporta niyo sa akin.
How are you
Madam?I hope and pray you're fine and in good health.My family and I would like to express our heartfeltthanks for the financial
assistance you've given me.It will be hard for my parents to send me to school
without your scholarship assistance.Through your scholarship assistance, I
can achieve my ambition and help my parents to have better life.
Again thank
you very much and I hope you will continue your financial assistance to me so I can pursue my ambition and dreams.
Gusto ko lang po mag-thank you sa lahat po ng naitulong nyo sa akin. Malaking tulong po talaga sa pamilya namin
na napag-aral nyo po ako at binigay nyo po sa akin ang pangangailangan ko sa pag-aaral. Isa po kayo sa mga inspirasyon
ko sa pag-aaral. Hindi ko po alam kung paano masusuklian ang kabaitan nyo sa akin. Isa na rin po kayo sa mga magulang
ko. Nagpapasalamat din po ako at binigyan nyo po ako ng isa pang pagkakataon noong natanggal ako sa scholarship.
Hindi ko po alam kung paano mapapalitan ang mga tulong na naibigay nyo sa amin. Alam ko po ang magagawa ko ay mag-aral
ng mabuti. Ginagawa ko po lahat ng makakaya ko. Pero pasensya na po kung hindi ganun kataas ang mga grades ko.
Ngayon po malapit na po ako mag-graduate, at ngayon lalo ko pa po pinagbubutihan. Isa po kayo sa mga gusto ko pong alayan
ng diploma.
Maraming salamat po ulit at alam ko po lagi po kayong gagabayan at ibebless ni God. Ingat po palagi.
First of all, I want to thank all of you... our dearest batch '65 Sponsors.
I can no other answer make, but, thanks, and thanks. ~William Shakespeare
Wala pong salitang hihigit pa sa pasasalamat ang gusto ko pong sabihin sa inyong lahat. Sobrang
laking tulong po nito sa amin lalo na po sa akin.
For about four years that you've been helping me and my co-scholars, it's such a blessing.
YOu are all very very very kind. You are not like others na kahit tapos na po kayo ay hindi na tutulong sa iba.
Kayo pong lahat, hindi po kayo nakalimot. Kahit marami na po sa inyo ngayon ay financially blessed. My family
is very very thankful po sa lahat ng tulong ninyo sa amin.
Sorry po kung minsan ay bumababa ung grades ko. Kasalanan ko rin po kasi.
Sisikapin ko po na mas galingan pa po at hindi ko po kayo bibiguin sa abot ng aking makakaya.
Natutuwa po kami dahil napaka-active ninyo po sa projects and activities ng Alumni Association.
To all of you po I want to share this quotation:
Not what we give, But what we share, For the gift without the
giver Is bare. ~James Russell Lowell
May our Lord bless you all and your family as well.
May you touch other people's lives and may you share your blessings to others who need it the most. Sana po marami po
kayong matulungang katulad namin.
Dear Batch '65 alumni sponsors,
Greetings in peace!
Ako po si Arielle Erika R. Valerio , first year
ng PUPLHS sa section ng 1-Peace. Isa po ako sa mapalad na bagong mag-aaral na nabigyan ng scholarship ng inyong scholarship
program, at inyo pong patuloy na natutulungan. Nais ko lamang pong
iparating sa inyo ang aking pasasalamat, ngayong magtatapos na ang School year 2005-2006, sa inyong walang sawang pagtulong
sa mga bagong mag-aaral ng PUPLHS. Maraming salamat po dahil ang financial support na ibinibigay ninyo ay nagiging malaking
tulong sa akin sa lahat ng panahon. Napakalaking bagay po ng inyong pagtulong sa akin dahil sa pamamagitan po nito ay
natustusan ang aking mga pangangailangan sa aking pag-aaral. Maraming
salamat po talaga sa inyong walang sawang pagsuporta at pagtulong sa mga katulad kong estudyante. Dahil po dito ay nagiging
mas determinado rin po akong magtapos ng pag-aaral at tumulong rinsa mga susunod pang henerasyon ng mga mag-aaral tulad
ng inyong ginagawa. Mas nagkakaroon po ako ng desire na magtapos ng may karangalan, at maigting na pagpupursigi upang maabot
ang aking mga pangarap. Maraming salamat po dahil sa pamamagitan ng inyong
financial support ay nakatulong ito sa pang-araw-araw kong pagpasok sa paaralan upang mag-aral at matuto ng iba’t-ibang
kaalaman. Mas nahihikayat po akong mag-aral ng mabuti dahil lagi ko pong naaalala ng na I’m not doing it just for
my self but also for my family,people like you and for the glory of God.
Asahan po ninyong magiging mabuti pa akong mag-aaral ng PUPLHS at mag-aaral pa ng huto upang magtagumpay.
Asahan nyo rin pong ang walang sawang pagtulong ninyo financially ay hindi masasayang
at mabuti po ang kapupuntahan at patuloy pong magagamit sa mabubuting bagay especially sa aking pag-aaral. Sana po ay wag kayong magsawang tumulong sa mga mag-aaral na tulad ko
na financially unstable at makakaasa po kayong di masasayang ang inyong ginagawang pagtulong.
Salamat po sa Panginoong Hesus sa paggamit Nya sa inyo bilang daluyan ng Kanyang pagpapala para sa
amin. Dinadalangin ko na ibalik ng Panginoon ang lahat sa inyo ng siksik, liglig at umaapaw. Nawa ay bigyan Nya kayo
ng mahabang buhay at malakas na pangangatawan. At asahan po ninyo na pagbubutihan ko pa ang aking pag-aaral.
Again, thank you very much and God bless you abundantly for your generosity!
my schooling.
I want to share my overwhelming
experience in the awarding ceremony at the end of my freshman days. Even though I felt sad that my father could not be able
to see me go up in stage with all those awards anymore, it was still a memorable experience for me. It was really great to
be up there in the stage and be applauded by the people around me. I didn’t expect to receive as many awards as 10 namely
Best in Math, English, Filipino, Social Studies, P.E., Science, Health, Industrial Arts, Model Student Award and First Honor
award in the first year level. All of this are for my mom, for you and as well as for the Batch ‘65 because you are
the people who are serving as the inspiration and motivator who encouraged me to persevere and study hard to accomplish my
goals in life. It was a great school year for me. I promise to even persevere harder so that you will be proud of me and deserving
to be a scholar of yours.
I am really thankful that
you have given me this scholarship which is a great help in my schooling needs. I want to give you my warmest thanks and pray
that God will bless you for being a philanthropist to us even though I am a stranger whom you don’t know. You have trusted
me to be one of your scholars and I thank you for doing so. You have motivated me to persevere to be the best student and
son that I can be. I am really grateful that you’re always there to help me in my schooling needs. It was really hard
for my mom to support me in my studying because my father was the main earner for our family before he died when I was in
Grade III.
I hope that we’ll
meet again soon so that I can personally thank you for everything that you have given to me not only financially but also
the sense of motivation and inspiration as well.
to my
very special sponsors:
First of all, thank you for replying to my e-mails and for everything.
Sorry if my
reply is late because I'm just renting the computer and I just opened my mail today.
Thank you for everything and
more blessings to you and your family.
I hope that I would still be the first honor for the following years so
that you would still be proud of me and your classmate from Canada would still continue his/her plan to offer me as their
scholar.
The latest in me is that I'm elected as the Vice-President of the Math and Science Club for the next school
year. I promise to still do my best the next school year and try harder to be the first honor, still.
By the way,
if you're going to contact me, our number now is 7801167 or you could contact my mother in her cellphone no +639187930368.
I
hope that everything you wish for me would come true.
Take care and more blessings to come po. Love lots, Mark
Vincent M. Galon
p.s. Don't worry I'm always praying for kuya Rhonyll. Thank you po again.
sorry for not replying soon. I'm so happy to hear from you. I forwarded your e-mail to my kids and showed it to
Percy.
Congratulations for garnering all those awards again. Sobrang galing ka talaga. Keep up the
good work. Do you know that when you were awarded last year as outstanding PUP student and for all the other awards
(was that in Math, Science, and what else?), I noticed that the background of the picture says ril 13 2005. You were
given the award on April 13, 2005. That is the birthday of my son, Rhonyll (Bong). Isn't that strange?
On his birthday last April 2004, my boss gave the VA Tech Foundation Rhonyll Seballos Endowed $1,000. My boss doesn't
know that it was his birthday that day and he doesn't know also that we are short of $800 to reach our goal of $25,000.
Bong's friends from VA Tech established an endowment in his name. We helped them raise $25,000 so an award of $1,000 in perpetuity
can be given to a scholar. The scholar must be of Filipino descent and must be a member of the Filipino-American Student
Assn. (FASA) of VA Tech where he graduated.
One of our classmates from Canada is eyeing you as one of their prospective
scholars if you continue to enroll at PUP College with outstanding grades. So keep up the good work. They have
very strict requirements.
Percy will be visiting Phils. on April 23, but he will be in his province in Antique to attend
a family reunion. He will contact you in May and hopefully will have a longer chat with you. We have a little
something for you for all the good work and for making your parents and our Batch 65 very proud of you and for setting a good
example.
May this Easter bring you and your family joy through the coming years. Let's always pray for one another
and please say a prayer for Rhonyll. It was his birthday yesterday.
Many blessings to you and your loved
ones, regards to your mother, Socorro Aventino Seballos (my classmates call me Suki - just in case you're wondering who
Suki is).
Good
day to you and your family!
First of all, I hope you're all right there with your family. It's the end of the school
year and we have what they call Recognition Day. And I'm sure you already know by this time that I'm one of those students
who were given a recognition on the said day. I've received several awards: Best in Practical Arts II (Bookkeeping, Stenography,
and Entrepreneurship), Best in Business Math and Statistics, Best in Social Studies II, Best in Health II, Best in Filipino
II, Best in Science II. And aside the six, I also got the award as the First Honor in our year level.
To end this
letter, I hope that you appreciate my awards, and I know you do! Thank you for everything. And I do promise that I will
try my very best to keep what I have now.
Thank you and God Bless!!!
Love Lots,
Mark Vincent
Dear Batch '65 alumni sponsors,
Greetings in peace!
Ako po si Arielle Erika R. Valerio , first year ng PUPLHS sa section ng 1-Peace. Isa po ako sa mapalad na bagong mag-aaral
na nabigyan ng scholarship ng inyong scholarship program, at inyo pong patuloy na natutulungan.
Nais ko lamang pong iparating sa inyo ang aking pasasalamat, ngayong magtatapos na ang School
year 2005-2006, sa inyong walang sawang pagtulong sa mga bagong mag-aaral ng PUPLHS. Maraming salamat po dahil ang financial
support na ibinibigay ninyo ay nagiging malaking tulong sa akin sa lahat ng panahon. Napakalaking bagay po ng inyong pagtulong
sa akin dahil sa pamamagitan po nito ay natustusan ang aking mga pangangailangan sa aking pag-aaral.
Maraming salamat po talaga sa inyong walang sawang pagsuporta at pagtulong sa mga katulad
kong estudyante. Dahil po dito ay nagiging mas determinado rin po akong magtapos ng pag-aaral at tumulong rinsa mga susunod pang
henerasyon ng mga mag-aaral tulad ng inyong ginagawa. Mas nagkakaroon po ako ng desire na magtapos ng may karangalan, at
maigting na pagpupursigi upang maabot ang aking mga pangarap. Maraming
salamat po dahil sa pamamagitan ng inyong financial support ay nakatulong ito sa pang-araw-araw kong pagpasok sa paaralan
upang mag-aral at matuto ng iba’t-ibang kaalaman. Mas nahihikayat po akong mag-aral ng mabuti dahil lagi ko pong
naaalala ng na I’m not doing it just for my self but also for my family,people like you and for the glory of God.
Asahan po ninyong magiging mabuti pa akong mag-aaral ng PUPLHS at mag-aaral pa
ng huto upang magtagumpay. Asahan nyo rin pong ang walang sawang pagtulong
ninyo financially ay hindi masasayang at mabuti po ang kapupuntahan at patuloy pong magagamit sa mabubuting bagay especially
sa aking pag-aaral. Sana po ay wag kayong magsawang tumulong sa mga mag-aaral
na tulad ko na financially unstable at makakaasa po kayong di masasayang ang inyong ginagawang pagtulong.
Salamat po sa Panginoong Hesus sa paggamit Nya sa inyo bilang daluyan ng Kanyang
pagpapala para sa amin. Dinadalangin ko na ibalik ng Panginoon ang lahat sa inyo ng siksik, liglig at umaapaw. Nawa ay
bigyan Nya kayo ng mahabang buhay at malakas na pangangatawan. At asahan po ninyo na pagbubutihan ko pa ang aking pag-aaral.
Again, thank you very much and God bless you abundantly for your generosity!
